Apartment blocks serves as an beneficial solution for providing ample amount of housing to people intending to live in big cities and i agree to this statement.

Large cities tend to have a housing crisis leaving a majority of the people to commute large distance in order to reach their destination. Although large cities have multiple facilites such as shopping malls, hospitals and other amenities making it difficult to provide housing to a large number of people. Apartment blocks solves this problem enabling people to access the amenities making their life easier as a whole. For instance, an office worker has to commute to his workplace everyday as it is two hours away from the place he lives. Since, it not very affordable for individuals to purchase a house but an apartment is affordable in that sense.

Instead of daily communting, the office worker purchased a apartment block near his workplace reducing a great deal of time which is consumed in daily travel and aids in saving his crucial time and money in the process. This also provides him with an oppurtunity to use the varoius amenities in times of need and various other things such as grocery shopping etc.

In conclusion, Apartment blocks will play a key role in providing homes to the increasing population that has been taking place over the years in the large cities while creating a greater oppurtunites for many more things

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response presents a clear position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. The writer attempts to support this stance with arguments regarding housing crises, access to amenities, and reduced commuting times. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, focusing heavily on a single extended example of an office worker. Furthermore, the length requirement of 250 words is not met, as the response contains only 237 words. This under-length shortfall places a strict ceiling on the task achievement score, preventing the response from reaching Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays a basic overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat blurred, and the logical progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and loose referencing, such as the pronoun 'this' lacking a clear antecedent in places. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical or simplistic manner (e.g., 'Although large cities...', 'For instance...'). While the essay remains understandable overall, the flow of argument is frequently interrupted by choppy sentences and weak transitional links, characteristic of a Band 5 performance.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for a basic attempt at the task, featuring common terms like 'housing crisis', 'amenities', and 'workplace'. However, the lexical range is limited, and there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Apartment blocks serves as an beneficial solution' (incorrect article and agreement) and 'ample amount of housing'. The writer also attempts some less common vocabulary ('oppurtunity', 'varoius') but these are undermined by frequent spelling errors and awkward phrasing, placing the response firmly within the Band 5 descriptor range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are frequently faulty. Examples of grammatical errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('Apartment blocks serves'), missing articles ('purchased a apartment'), and awkward punctuation and capitalization in places. There are also run-on sentence structures and fragments that obscure meaning, such as 'Although large cities have multiple facilites such as shopping malls, hospitals and other amenities making it difficult to provide housing to a large number of people.' Frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning with the Band 5 descriptors.
