Student answer (Band 4.5)
Without any doubt , it is true that , it is not a easy task to find a good place to live in big cities , in this contemptory era . Well , some belives that , building tall appartment blocks is one of the best way to provide enough homes in large cities . I do disagree to this statement to large extend and i will discuss the points in favour of this nation along with a few pros as well , with relevant reasons and valid examples in upcoming paragraphs .
First and foremost reason is that, if individuals will not get enough space tto livr or stay , then people will stop to move to the big cities . By which the polloution will decrease . To elaborate it, most of people move to cities to grabe the opportunities of cities such as job offers and many more . It leads to polloution , as they buy cars there which creats noise and air pollution along with traffic . Moreover , to built the house or appartment , they need space and wood , to fulfill that need they cut the trees which further , damages the atmosphere . For instance , A surrey was conducted by a ssk company in 2024 , it showes that 75 % of pollulation is increased by moving the individuals in cities from villages .
On the other hand ,it is the best way to built appartments to provide shelter to the local people . because the local individuals also lost their homes because due to some reason they sold their home to newly moved people . Now they also wanna buy their home but they will not .
conclusion , these were my suppotive points which i discussed above in favour of this sataement .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student attempts to address the prompt by discussing whether building tall apartment blocks is the best solution for housing shortages in large cities. A position is stated, albeit with some confusion in wording, expressing disagreement with the prompt. However, the development of ideas is weak and largely deviates from the core topic. Instead of focusing on urban planning, housing density, or the pros and cons of high-rise living, the first body paragraph digresses into arguing that people should stop moving to big cities to reduce pollution. The second body paragraph attempts to present a counter-argument regarding local shelter but is underdeveloped and unclear. Overall, the response addresses the task only partially and the ideas lack clear, relevant support, aligning closely with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response shows an attempt at organisation, but the overall progression is hampered by poor paragraphing and a lack of clear cohesive links. The introduction is cluttered with unnecessary conversational filler and awkward spacing around punctuation marks, such as 'Without any doubt , it is true that'. The body paragraphs are poorly structured, and the conclusion is merely a single incomplete sentence ('conclusion , these were my suppotive points which i discussed above in favour of this sataement .') which even contradicts the student's stated position in the introduction. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, and referencing is often unclear. This performance fits the Band 4 descriptor, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling mistakes and improper word choices throughout the text. Examples of lexical errors include 'contempory era' (contemporary era), 'belives' (believes), 'appartment' (apartment), 'extend' (extent), 'nation' (notion), 'ttolive' (to live), 'polloution' (pollution), 'grabe' (grab), 'creats' (creates), 'surrey' (survey), 'ssk' (unclear acronym), and 'showes' (shows). These noticeable errors cause strain for the reader and reflect a limited vocabulary range. The student attempts some less common words, but they are consistently misspelled or misused, making Band 4 the most appropriate score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The student demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences plagued by frequent structural and punctuation errors. There are constant issues with comma splices, incorrect prepositions, and verb tense inconsistencies, such as in 'if individuals will not get enough space tto livr or stay , then people will stop to move to the big cities' and 'because the local individuals also lost their homes because due to some reason they sold their home'. Complex structures are attempted, but they are invariably faulty. Errors occur in almost every sentence and frequently distort meaning or cause significant difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 4 descriptor.
