Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is no gainsaying the fact that the best way to provide enough homes in urban cities is to constructing tall building apartments. I personally support this idea that buldings are elongated vertically rather then spred in all directions. At the outset, nowadays, it became a challengins task to provide shelter to all people due to continously increase in population in large cities as people come here to explore work oppourtunity, study and a better lifestyle, so this became the advantageous idea because if the house were expand vertically the same sapce for one house can convert to 10-20 houses and it easy to maintain the rising shelter demands. Also this idea brings a change in communication gap as if many can live in same building they communicate or interact more to other residental people. Another benifits of this method is that by adopting this trend the acares of land escaped from condtruction and can be utilise for alternate sector like agriculture, industries and for plantations. Besides this as the urban cities desgined like this way the city looks appealing and well established.
For instances, I recommend this idea because when my house is designed in this way and it is a four story building in which my family living on the ground floor and the above apartments is on lease for the students or employees who come city for purpose of study and jobs thus by this way these people easily got a space for staying and also this support my family economically.
In conclusion i strongly agreed with this inovative idea of constructing homes in form of tall apartments blocks. Because it gives benifits from all aspects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities. Main ideas are presented, such as land conservation, population growth management, and economic benefits, fulfilling the core requirements of Task 2. However, some ideas are under-developed or supported with anecdotal, overly personal evidence rather than general arguments, such as the example of the student's own four-story family home. While a clear position is maintained throughout, the lack of broader socio-economic elaboration limits the score to a Band 6.0 according to the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response suffers from significant organizational issues regarding paragraphing and logical progression. The essay contains only one massive body paragraph which merges multiple distinct points, such as population increase, community interaction, land preservation, and urban aesthetics, making the text difficult to follow. Although some cohesive devices are attempted, referencing and transitions are often faulty or mechanical. Paragraphing is used insufficiently and inappropriately, as the main body of the argument is clumped together instead of being separated into distinct thematic paragraphs. These characteristics align with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate to the topic, including words and phrases like 'urban cities', 'infrastructure', and 'economically'. However, there are frequent lexical errors and inaccurate word choices, such as 'to constructing tall building apartments' instead of 'constructing tall apartment buildings', 'challengins' (challenging), 'oppourtunity' (opportunity), 'sapce' (space), and 'acares' (acres). Spelling mistakes and awkward collocations occur regularly throughout the response, which impedes the reader at times and places this response firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. Numerous grammatical errors persist, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and faulty relative clauses, as seen in sentences like 'if the house were expand vertically the same sapce for one house can convert to 10-20 houses' and 'as the urban cities desgined like this way'. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences lacking appropriate periods or commas to separate distinct clauses. These persistent errors and limited structural control reflect the Band 5.0 descriptors.
