Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's era, homing facilities in urban areas has became a major argument between inividuals. As shelter is a basic need of one's life, the government or the construction companies should make proper blue print of the areas. So that it will become a easy task for them.
From my perspective, i believe that building tall apartments will help the citizens. As apartments can easily fit upto 20 families, this will help the individuals for easy access to the shelter.
On the one hand, there are numerous benefits which outweigh drawbacks.
Furthermore, apartments are build with good infrastructure facilities and also helps in the development of the economy. For instance, one of my friend lives in a large apartment because of the other community members in her block, she learned many different skills and languages.
She has also increased speaking and communication skills.
But some of the drawbcks are such as, the citixens can have much noise pollution because of the other family members .
large buliding can increase the unlikely atmosphere among people. The major drawback is that many people cannot afford a apartment beacuse of there finaces. However, it's the work of the government to assist the citizens with housing facilities which will also ehance the gross domestic product of the country.
for instance, India is a large developing country the citizens are facing issues because of less shelters.
In conclusion, i believe that large cities requires tall building for the public and it will also help the individuals for better future. Benefits outweigh risks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt regarding whether building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. The student takes a clear position in favour of tall apartments, stating that they help citizens and improve accessibility to shelter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the mention of economic development and the GDP is introduced briefly without sufficient supporting details. The personal anecdote about a friend learning skills and languages in an apartment block is somewhat tangential to the core housing debate. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the arguments lack depth and extension, preventing the response from reaching higher bands. Overall, it achieves a solid Band 5.5 performance for addressing the task with a recognisable position, even though the elaboration remains basic throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text shows some organisation with basic cohesive devices and paragraph breaks, though the logical progression is frequently disrupted. Transitional phrases are sometimes misused or overly simplistic, such as starting paragraphs with 'On the one hand' without a corresponding 'On the other hand', or using 'But some of the drawbcks are such as' which disrupts the flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences within paragraphs often feel disjointed rather than logically sequenced. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall structure lacks smooth transitions between ideas, particularly in the body paragraphs where points about infrastructure, social benefits, drawbacks, and government responsibilities are introduced abruptly. These structural and cohesive weaknesses place the response securely at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for basic communication, but it contains frequent errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation. Examples include 'homing facilities' instead of housing, 'inividuals' instead of individuals, 'blue print' instead of blueprint, 'drawbcks' instead of drawbacks, 'citixens' instead of citizens, and 'finaces' instead of finances. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'infrastructure facilities', 'gross domestic product', and 'unlikely atmosphere', but these attempts are marred by inaccurate usage or awkward phrasing. While the range is sufficient to convey the general message, the high frequency of spelling mistakes and inappropriate lexical choices prevents the response from achieving a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in verb tense, agreement, and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include 'homing facilities... has became' (subject-verb agreement and tense error), 'it will become a easy task' (article error), 'apartments are build' (passive voice error), 'large cities requires' (subject-verb agreement), and frequent capitalization and punctuation issues like 'for instance, India is a large developing country the citizens are facing issues...' which results in run-on sentences. While some simple sentences are formed correctly, the accumulation of basic grammatical errors causes occasional difficulty for the reader and justifies a Band 5.0 score.
