Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people are at view that making high rise apartments can provide sufficient homes to the community. I Agree to this statment because economically and enviromently its best choice than uncontrolled expension of horizental houses schemes, altough high rise buildings are not always have good and free living standrads.

In recent years, the increase in horizental communities is a major problem through out the globe. Because, its making it hard to supply the basic facilities like health, education to the communites because of its expansion and expensive . For example, 5 homes on ground are much expensive than 5 homes in tall sky scraper, and takes more space. not only this there need to be roads and transportation services for the people while in verticle homes one road is sufficient for whole community.

On the one hand, building vertically has several clear advantages. The amount of land available in major cities is often limited and expensive, so constructing high-rise apartments allows developers to house more people without expanding the city horizontally. This can also help preserve land on the outskirts of urban areas for agriculture, parks and other purposes. Furthermore, if tall residential buildings are concentrated around public transport systems, they can reduce the need for long car journeys and make urban infrastructure more efficient.

In conclusion, tall buildings homes are the best solution to this increasing communities and decreasing resources. it not only preserve land but also preserve greenery, trees and forests. Addtionaly, the expansions for land houses is also dangrous for thenlife of other animals living on the land or under.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the statement, supported by relevant ideas. The introduction states the writer's view, and the body paragraphs discuss economic and infrastructural benefits, such as land preservation and efficient utility supply. For instance, the student mentions that high-rise apartments take less space and preserve land on the outskirts for agriculture. However, some ideas lack full extension and are slightly repetitive, such as the concluding remarks on preserving greenery. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 6.0 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal logical progression, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'Because, its making it hard' and abrupt sentence structures. Paragraphing could be more strictly managed to group related ideas more fluidly. These issues prevent the response from achieving a higher score, making Band 6.0 an accurate reflection of its cohesive qualities.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'infrastructure', 'horizontally', and 'vertically'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'statment' instead of statement, 'enviromently', 'expension', 'horizental', and 'dangrous'. Additionally, some collocations are awkward, such as 'tall buildings homes'. Despite these lexical inaccuracies, the meaning remains mostly clear to the reader, aligning well with the Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination with structures like 'Furthermore, if tall residential buildings are concentrated...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and articles, such as 'high rise buildings are not always have', 'the increase in horizental communities is a major problem', and 'there need to be roads'. Punctuation is also erratic in places, with misplaced commas or missing terminal punctuation. These errors occasionally cause minor strain for the reader, fitting comfortably into Band 5.5.
