Student answer (Band 5.0)
The growth of human population is increase rapidly from recent years which also increase the amount of people living in citiesSo,according to my observations and daily life experience we have to build tall apertment blocks to provide enough homes in large cities.I'll give a few reason below to support my view.
Firstly, facilities which are available in cities are not present in villages and rural areas so most of the people from these places migrate to cities for better lifestyle. To give them the same serviceses we have to build tall apartment blocks where a lot of migrant can live.
Secondly, there is no similar planet as earth in the whole universe where human being can live and also the earth is not so much bigger for us in furture. This fact is enough to save place as well as to save environment.Scienctist work from almost a century to to fin a same planet which provide ditto facilities like earth so, it is very important for us to care about earth and make buildings which take less space than making particular house.
Thirdly, Buying land in cities cost more than in village which make difficult for any villager to migrate from village to city but the apartment blocks slove this problem too. There is no need to buy a particular house you can buy an apartment with cheap cost and live there.
Overall, it is very important for us to change with time.Buildings houses is not a bad thing if anyone have sufficent resource he can live in a house insteed of an apartment. But apartments have much more benefits than a indiviual house.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task by presenting a clear position that agrees with the statement regarding building tall apartment blocks in large cities. The writer provides three main supporting arguments: urban migration for better facilities, environmental/space preservation on Earth, and the lower financial cost of buying an apartment compared to a house. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the third paragraph where the argument about land costs and rural-urban migration is briefly stated without deeper exploration. While the position is clear throughout, the support remains at a surface level, which is characteristic of a Band 5 performance. The response does cover all parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas lacks sufficient extension and depth to reach higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, with an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some basic structure. However, there is a distinct lack of clear overall progression and logical linking between sentences. The writer uses basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly', but referencing and transitions are often mechanical and sometimes faulty, as seen in the run-on sentences and punctuation errors in the introduction ('citiesSo,according to...'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is weak. For instance, the leap from Earth's limited size to scientists searching for other planets in the third paragraph lacks smooth cohesive ties, placing this aspect of the writing firmly at a Band 5 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively limited and repetitive, with frequent spelling mistakes ('apertment', 'furture', 'Scienctist', 'fin', 'ditto', 'slove', 'sufficent', 'insteed', 'indiviual') and word choice errors ('cheap cost' instead of 'low cost'). The writer attempts some less common words, such as 'migrate', 'facilities', and 'environment', but the noticeable errors in spelling and collocation cause some difficulty for the reader and impede fluent comprehension in places. The range is minimally adequate for addressing the topic, but the high frequency of basic lexical inaccuracies keeps the score at a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the overall descriptive fit for limited vocabulary control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are major punctuation and spacing errors throughout the text, such as missing spaces after periods and commas ('citiesSo,', 'lifestyle. To', 'spacethan'), as well as grammatical mistakes like subject-verb agreement issues ('The growth of human population is increase rapidly') and tense inconsistencies ('Buildings houses is not a bad thing if anyone have'). These frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction cause noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader. Although the writer attempts complex sentences, the high error density prevents the text from achieving a Band 6.
