Student answer (Band 5.0)

The best method to provide shelter to maximum number of people in urban areas is to build tall building blocks. I strongly agree, because to accommodate large number of individuals apartments are the best choice.

On the on hand, many individuals feel, tall building blocks are the best possible method to provide enough homes in urban areas.

This is because, rapid population growth.

The number of people migrating to cities is increasing day by day. To provide shelter to all huge apartments are the best way because they can accomodate a huge proportion of people.

For example, it is quite challenging for everyone to buy a seperate land in cities, as its not easily available and easy to find. In addition private lands are more expensive than apartments, which not everycan affort it.

Hence, apartments should be prioritized in cities.

On the other hand,it can accomodate a large number of people within a smaller piece of land.

It is much easier to build and operate an apartment in cities because they don't take much space.

An apartment can accommodate around 6000 individual, if its quite tall, Moreover, multiple buildings can be constructed with multi storey building. so they can fit maximum people. furthermore, a variety of amenities can be added such as parks , gardens , and swimming pool et cetra.

For instance, an house can accomodate a single or two families not more than that. But apartments can fill maximum numbers as compared to personal house.

Therefore, for urban areas apartments are the best choice to live in.

In conclusion,I would argue that, flats are the best way to provide home to maximum number of people residing in cities.

Due to increase in populatuion its hard to find a personal house in urban areas. I strongly recommend apartments rather than a house.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the proposition that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide housing in large cities. The student attempts to provide supporting points, such as population growth, land scarcity, and the integration of amenities like parks and swimming pools. However, the development of these ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the second and third body paragraphs largely reiterate the same core argument regarding the efficient use of space without introducing distinctly new analytical dimensions. Furthermore, there are some unsupported claims, such as an apartment accommodating 6,000 individuals in a single building. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of ideation remains restricted, aligning best with a Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptor.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays an overall structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs are extremely brief or repetitive. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'On the on hand' and 'Furthermore, a variety of amenities can be added such as parks , gardens , and swimming pool et cetra.' The logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in ideas and repetitive arguments within the body sections. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. This demonstrates the characteristics of Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and adequate only for basic communication. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'accommodate', 'migrating', and 'amenities', but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and collocation, such as 'maximum number of people', 'seperate land', 'everycan affort it', and 'populatuion'. Repetition of basic words like 'apartment', 'city', and 'people' is frequent throughout the text. These lexical shortcomings cause occasional strain for the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures frequently contain grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'as its not easily available and easy to find' and 'if its quite tall, Moreover, multiple buildings can be constructed with multi storey building.' There are frequent errors in punctuation, articles, subject-verb agreement, and sentence boundaries (e.g., comma splices and fragment sentences like 'This is because, rapid population growth.'). While simple sentences are generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical slips places this text at Band 5.0.
