Student answer (Band 5.5)

Building tall apartments blocks in dense populated cities is the suitable solution to avoid home crises. I strongly agree with the statement, The state should plan building apartments to provide enough home.

Building apartment block in larger cities can save much area of city which goverment can utilize in making commercial hubs and can accomodate many citizen with it . In larger cities fo country people come for different purposes like Education, Healthcare, Job etc. As the citties population grew the acocmodation become the most headach part of life and rents also increses. To avoid much rents and crises of home. The state should build tall apartments to facilitate citizens. convencice people to leave house and live in apartment can be a difficult part. The state can provide all facliities near apartment so people dont have to struggle with transport.

The State should build apartments in that style so every apartment owner can have equal facilities. Facilities like Hospital, Super markets, Public transport stations, Garden, Automobile repair shops should be nearby aprtment by walking distance in result people can think to live in aprtment instead of house. Human needs basic facilities nearby their living space which apartments can provide.

In my opinion, The tall apartments are faraway better than houses if they are providing much facilities and apartment should be in mid of city or beside of city with all facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by taking a clear position agreeing that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. They provide relevant ideas, such as saving space for commercial hubs and providing nearby facilities, supporting their arguments with reasons related to urban migration for education, healthcare, and jobs. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and under-developed, lacking specific real-world examples. Additionally, the word count is 231 words, failing to meet the minimum 250-word requirement. Consequently, these limitations prevent the response from achieving a higher band score under the task achievement descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a basic overall progression, moving from an introduction to supporting paragraphs discussing space-saving and surrounding facilities, and concluding with a personal opinion. Paragraphing is attempted, though some paragraphs lack internal cohesion and clear topic sentences. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes awkward, such as starting a sentence with 'convencice people...' or using disjointed transitions like 'in result people can think'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts the logical flow. Nevertheless, the main message remains mostly understandable, aligning with the characteristics of band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'commercial hubs', 'accommodate', and 'infrastructure-related concepts' implicitly. However, there are numerous word choice, collocation, and spelling errors throughout the essay, including 'dense populated' instead of densely populated, 'headach' instead of headache, 'increses' instead of increases, and 'convencice' instead of convincing. Words are sometimes misused, such as 'much area' and 'much rents'. While these lexical inaccuracies and spelling errors are noticeable and occasionally strain the reader, communication is rarely completely impeded, fitting the band 5.0 profile well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writing contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty and poorly controlled, such as in the sentence 'Facilities like Hospital, Super markets, Public transport stations, Garden, Automobile repair shops should be nearby aprtment by walking distance in result people can think to live in aprtment instead of house.' There are frequent grammatical errors involving articles, pluralisation, verb agreement, and punctuation, such as missing articles ('the state', 'a difficult part') and tense inconsistencies ('population grew the acocmodation become'). These errors cause some difficulty for the reader at times, though the basic meaning can still be deciphered.
