Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is often argued that the most effective way to provide sufficient homes in big apartments is to construct tall building.i completely evident with the given notion.because tall building also provide a various space to live a large number of families in small land.

To commence with, there are a wide range of reasons to presents adequate homes in big cities . the main reason is that through the tall apartments a high proportion of families easily lived in this place with the limitiation of land ,due to limited land, high rise building are too useful for people.for instance , in big built apartment can accomodate large number of families.subsequentlly in a large city the price of land is to expensive rather than rural areas.as a result, every people can esaily spend there life in big size flats .Moreover middle class family cannot afford these type of big appartments.they can lived here in a ranted flat only.

According to my perspective ,every people cannot afford hig range of flat and land in a big cities. In contrast another important reason is that high rise building can leave a large space for other faclities.such as school ,road ,for hospital, especially for parking . which can also improve the faclities level in big cities.

In conclusion,i stronglly agree with this stamwent because large apartment are also very helpful throgh that to reduce the problem of housing.every citizen can easily find house .big appartment lear how to use small apartment to the purpose of accomodated big amount of families and people

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position ('i completely evident with the given notion') in favour of tall apartment blocks. The main ideas, such as saving expensive land and leaving space for community facilities like roads and schools, are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. Sentences like 'every citizen can easily find house' lack sufficient extension and explanation. The reasoning remains basic throughout, resulting in an overall performance that aligns with the Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed, but ideas are limited and under-developed, and the position, while discernible, is expressed with frequent language awkwardness.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, attempting an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to poor mechanical linking and frequent mechanical errors. While the writer uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'for instance', and 'In conclusion', other links like 'subsequentlly' and 'In contrast another important reason' are used incorrectly or disrupt logical flow. Referencing is frequently unclear, for example, the pronoun use in 'lived in this place' and 'built apartment can accomodate'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is faulty and repetitive, placing this response securely at Band 4 in terms of structural coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent lexical errors that impede smooth reading. Examples include 'big apartments' used instead of tall buildings, 'evident' used in place of in agreement, and spelling errors like 'subsequentlly', 'ramted', and 'stamwent'. The writer attempts some less common items such as 'accomodate' and 'proportion', but spelling and word choice inaccuracies are frequent ('every people can esaily spend there life', 'hig range of flat'). The lexical range is limited and barely adequate for the task, meaning the response fits into the Band 4 category, where vocabulary is basic and errors repeatedly strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay, demonstrating a very limited range of structures. Simple sentences are frequent, and attempts at complex structures are almost always faulty, such as 'because tall building also provide a various space to live a large number of families in small land.' There are severe punctuation and capitalisation errors (e.g., starting sentences with lowercase letters like 'i completely', missing spaces after commas and periods). Errors in tense, agreement ('every people cannot afford', 'middle class family cannot ... they can lived'), and article usage are pervasive and frequently distort meaning. This profile matches Band 4, where errors are very frequent and grammar control is weak.
