Student answer (Band 5.0)
The rapid growth of population has also increased the affordable house and apartments there are two kind of people that are live in this planet a person who have nothing and second who have a all kind of things such as poor and rich the need of affordable apartements also have the solution for every one
The main advantages of building a apartement was no need for big plots you can made this in a city which people have unemployments its very helpful for high cost of urban land house also a lot of people have live in apartements they have no transportation issues and also healthcare he did it together
In addition apartements in the city who reduce the need of house in areas because we have higher amount of rooms in the apartements initially they also have a benifits for farmer he have a much more land for aggriculture which can play a vital role in our country In the past many childeren also died to aggriculture they have enough land for aggriculture they also have enough food to eat the main factor was that if he have not to get a lands for their agricultuer so how to eat a blanced diet
Nevertheless, building tall apartment blocks alone cannot solve the housing crisis. Poorly designed developments may become overcrowded and place excessive pressure on infrastructure, including water supplies, roads and sewage systems. In addition, some residents may prefer houses with gardens or more private outdoor space, particularly families with young children. Therefore, cities should also consider other approaches, such as constructing medium-rise housing, renovating unused buildings and developing well-connected residential areas outside city centres. These alternatives can provide a wider range of housing options while maintaining a reasonable quality of life.
In conclusion, I largely agree that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to increase housing availability in large cities because they use land efficiently and can support accessible public services. However, they should not be considered the only solution. A combination of high-rise buildings, other forms of housing and proper urban planning is necessary to meet the needs of a growing urban population.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the extent of agreement regarding tall apartment blocks as a solution for housing in large cities. The student attempts to present a position and includes supporting ideas, such as land efficiency, agricultural benefits, and infrastructure pressures. However, the development of ideas in the first three paragraphs is hampered by severe clarity issues, making the main arguments difficult to follow. The later paragraphs demonstrate a better understanding of the task requirements and present more coherent arguments. Overall, the response addresses all parts of the task, but the execution of ideas in the earlier sections is limited and under-developed, placing it at a Band 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into five paragraphs, showing an attempt at structural organisation. However, progression and logical flow are heavily disrupted throughout the first half of the essay due to poor referencing, run-on sentences, and a lack of cohesive devices. For instance, the transition between ideas in the second paragraph ('healthcare he did it together') is completely opaque. While the final two paragraphs use some appropriate cohesive markers such as 'Nevertheless' and 'In conclusion', the overall arrangement lacks clear logical progression in the initial sections. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is weak, leading to a Band 5.0 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited and minimally adequate vocabulary range for this task. While there are attempts to use topic-specific terms such as 'infrastructure', 'urban land', and 'housing crisis', these are undermined by frequent lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'affordable house and apartments', 'unemployments', and 'blanced diet'. Spelling errors are also noticeable throughout the text (e.g., 'apartement', 'aggriculture', 'childeren'). The vocabulary used is often repetitive or imprecise, causing some difficulty for the reader in grasping the exact meaning of the intended arguments, which aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or poorly constructed complex clauses linked together incorrectly. There are pervasive errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. For example, sentences such as 'there are two kind of people that are live in this planet' and 'the main advantages of building a apartement was no need for big plots you can made this' contain multiple grammatical faults. Complex structures are attempted, but they are frequently faulty and produce severe strain on the reader. Errors are very frequent across the entire text, justifying a Band 4.5.
