Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this fast and furious world, the most individuals get contentment in their house. So, this is important to have their own house. However, some people think it is a good way to provide in the mega cities is to build tall apartment blocks yet some members of public disagree with this statement. In this essay, I would like to discuss both views and give my own opinion in forthcoming paragraphs.

A fraction of people believe that the appartment blocks are best to them because they take their appartment in that city where they work. Moreover, it is a best method to save their energy and time. In addition, Many members of society live in the flats as it does not consume their salary. Further, it is suitable since they need less space in which they build tall buildings. On the top of that, it does not need a huge land since the remaining land could be used for agriculture or any other purpose.

A fraction of peole think that the appartments are not good becuase they have very less space as compare to their own house. First and foremost, someimes blocks are the cause of many conflicts. In addition, the blocks are very near to each other's house so they have no privacy.

In my opinion, it is best for employees who work in mega towns as they have no time to go their homes regularly so they live in blocks and relax their body easily and save their time.

Different people have different notions regarding this statement but I have sound reasons to advocate that although it have some drawbacks het it's benefits could not be overlooked.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The candidate attempts to address the prompt by discussing both sides of the argument regarding tall apartment blocks in mega cities and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. Phrases like "A fraction of people believe" and "A fraction of peole think" introduce very brief, superficial points regarding convenience, privacy, and space without extending them effectively with detailed examples. The position is stated, but the overall task coverage falls into the Band 5 category due to the lack of fully developed supporting details and the overly formulaic approach.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is weak and repetitive, especially between the body paragraphs and the concluding remarks. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or incorrectly, such as "On the top of that" and "First and foremost," which fail to create smooth transitions. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are extremely brief and lack internal cohesion, resulting in a score that aligns with Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and occasionally inaccurate. Examples such as "fast and furious world," "mega towns," and spelling errors like "appartment" and "becuase" restrict the score. The writer attempts some less common phrases, but poor word choice and collocation issues—such as "relax their body easily"—impede clarity at times. This performance sits firmly at Band 5, as the lexical range is limited and noticeable errors occur frequently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex structures are faulty or awkward, such as "although it have some drawbacks het it's benefits could not be overlooked." There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ("it have") and incorrect prepositions ("compare to" instead of "compared to"). These errors cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor for grammatical range and accuracy.
