Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that making large and tall apartment blocks in huge cities is the foremost way to provide enough homes. I firmly agree with the view that this solution will ultimately tackle the issue of house crisis due to several compelling reasons. This essay will not only elaborate my viewpoint but also provide relevant examples to support it.
To commence with, one of the most significant reason is that for the sake of better employment opportunities and good lifestyle, each and every person looking for a chance to shift to the urban area. This can be attributed to the fact that urban development creates many employment opportunities in many sectors especially in the field of software and technology meanwhile to manage the huge population in the urban sector needs proper planning particularly in the housing development.
Moreover, another crucial factor to consider is that due to modernization, larger areas get deforested which leads to the climate change and habitat loss followed by loss of biodiversity. Furthermore, overcrowded cities leads to house crisis which can be resolved by building tall apartments which covers smaller areas and city become spacious and that area must be utilized for the development of parks, museum and the grounds where people will relax from their hectic schedule.
In conclusion, although some may argue that tall buildings are not more reliant during the time of natural calamities but I strongly believe that tall apartments in the urban area particularly where every individual is busy gives an opportunity to interact with the new people, create social bond and develop the feeling of empathy and togetherness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of tall apartment blocks in solving the housing crisis in large cities and clearly states a position. The ideas presented are generally relevant, such as managing urban populations and freeing up space for parks. However, some arguments are slightly underdeveloped or shift focus unexpectedly, such as the sudden discussion of deforestation and biodiversity in the third paragraph, which could have been tied more directly to vertical housing density. Despite minor jumps in argumentation, the main position is sustained and the task is adequately covered.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an overall logical progression and a clear structural framework. Cohesive devices are employed to connect ideas, such as "To commence with," "Moreover," and "In conclusion." However, some transitional phrases and referencing are slightly mechanical or awkward, as seen in phrases like "Meanwhile to manage the huge population in the urban sector needs proper planning." Paragraphing is used appropriately, but internal cohesion within sentences occasionally falters, impacting the smoothness of the overall delivery.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, with attempts to incorporate less common items and topic-specific terms such as "employment opportunities," "modernization," and "biodiversity." However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing, such as "making large and tall apartment blocks," "house crisis" instead of "housing crisis," and "not more reliant" instead of "reliable." These lexical errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over grammar. There are, nevertheless, several noticeable grammatical errors and awkward structures throughout the text, such as "each and every person looking for a chance to shift" (missing a finite verb) and "overcrowded cities leads to house crisis" (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but frequent minor slips in clause structures and verb forms prevent the response from achieving a higher band score.
