Student answer (Band 4.5)
It often argued that the appropriate way to provide sufficient residence in big area. While some people may hold a different view, I agree with this statement.
The primary reason why I agree is that tall buildings allows people to buid numerous houses. This is because In tall buildings there are several flats which results people can get easily residence for themselves. For instance, Burj Khalifa is the tallest human made monuments that provide sufficient place for Business, Resident, and Resturant.
Another significant reason is that While constructing huge buildings occupies fewer land to the comparison of making small houses individually. In other words, If every people want to build seprate house for themselves in result land crices. A good example of this can be seen in rular area where pople prefer seperate house instead of choosing tall apartment. Consequently, lead individuals high necessity of residential lands.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that tall apartment is good for homes , mainly because tall building allows people to several houses and occupies less place to build houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address the prompt by agreeing that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. However, the development of ideas is limited and under-developed. For example, the mention of the Burj Khalifa focuses broadly on business and tourism rather than strictly residential solutions for large populations. Crucially, the length requirement is not met: the response contains only 176 words, falling significantly short of the 250-word minimum. This severe under-length prevents the writer from fully exploring the topic, capping the score for this criterion at Band 4.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four short paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at structural organisation. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and poor cohesion. Phrases such as 'This is because In tall buildings' and 'to the comparison of' create confusion rather than smooth transitions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and cohesive devices are used inadequately or inaccurately. While paragraphs are used, the overall arrangement lacks the clear progression required for higher bands, placing the essay firmly at Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by major word choice and collocation errors. Examples include 'appropriate way to provide sufficient residence in big area' instead of 'areas', and 'land crices' instead of 'crises'. The writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'monuments' and 'residential', but frequent errors in word formation (e.g., 'seprate', 'rular area', 'pople') cause noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader. The lexical range is minimally adequate for basic communication, corresponding to a Band 4.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple and heavily flawed complex structures. The text contains frequent, severe errors that often distort meaning, such as 'It often argued that' (missing auxiliary verb) and 'tall buildings allows people to buid' (subject-verb agreement errors). Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, as seen in mid-sentence capitalization like 'In tall buildings there are several flats which results people can get easily residence'. Because errors are pervasive and frequently impede comprehension, this performance aligns with Band 4.0.
