Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is widely believed that provide enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartments blocks. I partially agree with this statement because tall apartments provide many houses while saving lands.
On the one hand, tall apartments have numerous advantage because tall apartments accommodate many peoples in a small area. Land in large cities is limited and expensive which cause many individuals are effected by financial problem while purchasing land in big cities. For instance, instead of building 100 seorates houses, a high rise building can provide many flats on the same piece of land.Due to this, an individuals can get all accommodation facilities at one place. Thus high- rise buildings can save from shortage from housing.
On the other hand, tall apartments have disadvantage too beacuse it creates more crowded, and traffic problem. If many residential was lived at one place, it's directly affect on fooding and managements system.More residents can mean more demands of electricity, water, hospitals and other srvices. For example if thousands of people move into one apartments complex without better roads and public, congestion can increase. Conciquiently, it's effect an individuals privacy. Hence, tall apartments not completely solve the housing problems in big cities.
In conclusion, tall apartments outweigh the many homes

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of building tall apartment blocks in large cities, establishing a partial agreement position. Ideas are presented, such as saving land and accommodating more people, alongside drawbacks like traffic and overcrowding. However, the development of these ideas remains limited and somewhat repetitive. Furthermore, the response suffers from a significant penalty because the length requirement of 250 words is not met; the student's text contains only 207 words, leaving the conclusion incomplete and underdeveloped. Consequently, the task achievement is constrained to a Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief, incomplete conclusion. There is an attempt at overall organisation with transitional markers such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, progression is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical cohesion. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the final sentence where the conclusion is truncated and grammatically incomplete ('tall apartments outweigh the many homes'). Paragraphing is present, but the internal logical flow requires better control and clearer cohesive ties.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited yet minimally adequate range of vocabulary suitable for discussing housing issues, utilizing words like 'accommodation', 'congestion', and 'infrastructure'. However, there are numerous lexical errors, awkward word choices, and non-standard collocations throughout the text, such as 'provide enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartments blocks', 'saving lands', 'peoples', and 'fooding and managements system'. Spelling mistakes are also present, including 'seorates', 'beacuse', and 'Conciquiently'. These noticeable errors restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and clause structures, such as 'which cause many individuals are effected', 'If many residential was lived at one place', and 'it's directly affect on'. Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent, for example, missing spaces after commas and incorrect article placement ('an individuals'). While the meaning can generally be extracted, the high frequency of grammatical errors places this response firmly at Band 5.0.
