Student answer (Band 5.0)

The most effective method to provide enough houses in large town is to make tall apartment blocks.I completely agree that to build large appartment blocks helps to provide required number of home in big cities.

However, I believe that to make avilable enough houses in large cities by building tall apartment block instead of small appartment. The most effective way to provide homes in large cities is by building a appartments from high skilled workers and engineers. Before making tall buildings the company or organization needs to be authorized by governments for not being issues in future. In small area the people can live more in tall appartments rather than small appartments. The cost of building tall appartments in cities helps to attract more people because nowadays people like to live in large appartments. The think that the people who don't have money they live in small appartments or buildings and the people who have more money they live in large appartment and the ways they live it represents there living standard.

Likewise , building tall appartments not always have positive impacts in city and people . Nowadays building tall appartment becomes one of the serious problems for air transport they have to change their directions when they reached near tall buildings . Another serious impacts on people they have faced difficulties from reaching one flat to another . when there is low sheding in electricity at that time the lift services are blocked they need to go their flats through stairs . for example in Nepal the company that have large appartments when there is lack of electricity they face various problems for reaching one blocks to another.

In conclusin ,the government needs to make strict policies for making tall apartment block. The government should not allow engineers for making large appartments block in airport zone because it makes difficults for pilots while landings and maybe it causes accident.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The student addresses the task by stating a clear position of agreement regarding tall apartment blocks as a solution for housing in large cities. Main ideas are introduced, such as population density and government authorization, and the response touches on potential negative impacts like air transport and electricity failures. However, the development of ideas lacks depth and contains repetitive phrasing and somewhat confused argumentation, such as contrasting tall apartments with small apartments based on residents' wealth. Furthermore, there are some logical leaps, for instance, linking building types directly to air transport directions in a general sense. Overall, the response addresses all parts of the prompt, but the support and extension of ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, aligning best with a Band 5.5 descriptor profile.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is divided into four paragraphs, providing a basic organizational structure. However, the logical progression within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic and repetitive language. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical, inaccurate, or forced, such as 'However, I believe that...' followed by a tangled sentence structure, or 'Likewise, building tall appartments not always have positive impacts...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is weak, and referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'the think that the people...'). The overall progression lacks a smooth flow, placing this performance solidly within the Band 5.0 range.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource displayed is limited and repetitive. The student relies heavily on basic vocabulary items and repeatedly misuses or misspells words, such as 'appartment', 'avilable', 'sheding' instead of 'shedding' or 'shortage', and 'conclusin'. While there is an attempt to use less common vocabulary like 'authorized', 'living standard', and 'policies', errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and frequent throughout the text. These lexical limitations occasionally cause strain for the reader, though the core meaning usually remains retrievable, which fits the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex attempts are structurally flawed, incomplete, or grammatically confused (e.g., 'However, I believe that to make avilable enough houses in large cities by building tall apartment block instead of small appartment.'). Frequent errors in basic grammar are evident, including subject-verb agreement issues ('building tall appartments not always have', 'they represents there'), article misuse ('a appartments', 'in city'), and preposition errors. Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods and incorrect comma placement, also occur regularly. These persistent errors and faulty complex structures reflect a Band 5.0 level.
