Student answer (Band 6.0)
The best way to provide adequate amount of homes in towns is to build multistorey buildings or flats. I agree at the huge extent from the above notion and in the forth coming paragraph, I have supported my stand with reasonable justification.
Looking at the agreement side, the first and foremost is by providing individuals with high rise apartments we can complete the need of the houses with the growing populations in the cities without leading to any kind of harm to the environment. By living in a high rise apartment the individual live with certain members of the society because of that the individual will not feel left out in the new place. For instance if the person have been migrated from rural areas in search of new opportunities to a new place but as the individual is not familiar with anyone, he can develop the feeling of leftout but residing in the flats doesnot let the individual develop that feeling as everyone over there meet regularly, celebrates festival together which can help the individual to reduce the feeling of homesickness.
Moreover, by providing the high rise apartments the governament can be able to complete the demand of housing of everyone by utilizing smaller amount of area which can help the goverment to utilize significant amounrt of area in other developments such as industrial or by providing publiuc amenties to the citizens.
Now looking at the disagreement side, the first and foremost is that by providing high rise apartments more people will be attracted to the large cities which can lead to overcrowding, traffic conjestion and other problems. Furthermore, to handle such a significant amount of population will be a huge task for government to achieve which will lead to lack of management.
Agglomerating all the views, it is evitable that providing hig rise apartment is beneficial to both the government as well as the individuals but there are also some disadvantages associated with that like lack of management.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both agreeing and disagreeing aspects regarding tall apartment blocks as a solution for urban housing, ultimately taking a clear position. The ideas presented are generally relevant, such as environmental preservation, efficient space utilisation for public amenities, and potential issues like overcrowding or traffic congestion. However, some ideas are repetitive or under-developed, particularly in the discussion on social integration and the drawbacks of high-rise living. The arguments lack fully elaborated real-world examples, relying instead on generalised hypothetical scenarios. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 6 by addressing the task adequately while showing some limitations in idea extension and depth of support.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs exploring both sides of the argument, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate main ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and awkward, as seen in transitions like 'Looking at the agreement side', 'Now looking at the disagreement side', and 'Agglomerating all the views'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear or repetitive, such as the excessive use of 'the individual' and 'the government' within single sentences, which disrupts the natural flow and progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are functional but lack flexibility, placing this response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'multistorey', 'homesickness', 'agglomerating', and 'amenities'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout the text, such as 'adequate amount of homes', 'at the huge extent', 'forth coming paragraph', 'traffic conjestion', and 'evitable' instead of 'inevitable'. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'governament' and 'amounrt'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they reflect typical Band 6 limitations in precision, word choice, and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some capability to construct multi-clause sentences. However, frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing persist throughout the response. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the individual live'), incorrect preposition usage ('agree at the huge extent'), run-on and poorly structured sentences ('For instance if the person have been migrated...'), and unnecessary article usage. While the communication is generally understandable and meaning is not completely distorted, the density and frequency of these structural errors prevent the essay from achieving a higher band score.
