Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued that the better way to provide sufficent accommodation in metropolitan cities is to construct high-rise apartment buildings. I strongly agree with this view because they can accommodate more people using less land and they can provide people with covenient access to essential facilities services.
To began with, the main reason why I agree is that accommodate more people using less land. This is because now a days more number of families migrate to large cities for there jobs or children education but there is no sufficient land for people to build homes in metropolitan cities by constructing high-rise apartment will provide accommodation more than 100 of families in small land and it helps to many families. For example, In my childhood my parents will move to city for my education but we search for individual house to stay in city there is no houses we find in whole city, then we go for one greater community we get a home easily. This helps me to complete my eduaction easily by staying in large city.
Furthermore, another important reason is that provide people with covenient access to essential facilities services. This is because in big cities we can easily access anything with in a minute and there are many schools, movie theraters, parks, temples, restaurants etc most of the large apartment blocks near to this all facilities . For instance , In every holiday i spend a time with my family by going to park, movies and finally restaruant for dinner we can cover this all places easily because they all are near to my home and easily move their by walk form one place to other. Therefore, by staying in community we avoid traffic and save our time and spend more time with family and enjoy my holiday.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks mainy because they can accommodate more people using less land and they can provide people with covenient access to essential facilities services.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. The student provides two main supporting arguments: saving land space and providing convenient access to essential facilities. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper elaboration. For instance, the discussion on land usage relies heavily on a personal anecdote rather than broader social or economic analysis, which pulls the development down towards Band 5.0. While all parts of the task are addressed, the support remains limited and generalized, fitting best within the Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a basic attempt at logical progression, utilizing cohesive devices such as 'To began with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are frequently faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'This is because now a days more number of families migrate'. Furthermore, pronoun referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'they can accommodate... and they can provide'). Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is hindered by repetitive phrasing, which aligns with Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about housing and city life, such as 'metropolitan cities', 'accommodation', and 'essential facilities'. However, there is a limited and repetitive range of vocabulary alongside frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'sufficent', 'covenient', 'theraters', 'restaruant', and 'eduaction'. Less common lexical items are attempted but lack precision and accuracy (e.g., 'greater community' instead of 'large residential complex'). These noticeable errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, including run-on sentences, missing articles, incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'my parents will move' instead of 'moved'), and preposition errors (e.g., 'near to this all facilities' and 'move their by walk'). Many attempts at complex structures result in faulty syntax and punctuation errors that regularly cause difficulty for the reader. The grammatical control is limited, reflecting the descriptors for Band 4.5 to 5.0, so a Band 5.0 is awarded for the successful communication of basic clauses.
