Student answer (Band 5.0)
As urban area should have tall buildings which have apartments rather than homes which are spread all over the city.
As my prospective I believe that cities should have large and tall building where apartments are made in it because tall bulding use less area or space but give many apartments and much people or family can mange in that building in this way land resources are utilize and facilitate more and more to citizen and they can get much opportunities in flat because they are easy manage, organize and facilitate.
Tall builiding facilitate more than houses beacuse thay have specific and broad car parking and have planned map of water supply, gas supply and electricity supply.People who are associated with jobs and even businessmans are satisfy by the opportunities which apartment give to them and they amaze and facilitate by these utilities.
Other reason is to construction of tall builiding is to use minimum land because housing socities or houses accuired more land which are use for agriculture, forest or biodiversity and when agricultural land distroy there economy will decrease as country like Pakistan where GDP are contributed more on agricultural if houses are made then there crops are decrease and in fact inflamation and others social drawbacks occour.
So tall building are to build in order to facilitate, management and sustainability of city while to promote it for betterment of citizen and provide them all the necessary needs on steamline and good way which they need rather then to build houses and they can not get resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance in agreement with building tall apartment blocks, providing reasons such as space efficiency and the protection of agricultural land. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding land preservation mentions Pakistan's GDP and agricultural impact, but it lacks specific elaboration or fully realised examples. The position is discernible throughout, but the lack of depth and under-developed supporting points restrict the response to a Band 5.5. The writer attempts to cover multiple facets of the prompt such as utility planning and economic impacts, but these are stated rather than fully explored, aligning well with the Band 5 descriptors with some elements reaching higher.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some basic organisation with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding sentence starting with 'So tall building are...'. However, the overall progression is hindered by poor paragraphing and a lack of smooth transitions between ideas. Cohesive devices are frequently repetitive or inaccurate, as seen in the excessive use of 'and', 'because', and 'facilitate'. Furthermore, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun usage referring back to abstract concepts. Paragraphing is weak, with multiple distinct ideas lumped together into dense, poorly demarcated sections. This level of organisation aligns closely with Band 5, where information has some structure, but lacks a clear, coherent overall progression and accurate cohesive management.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent inappropriate word choices and word-formation errors. For example, the student writes 'inflamation' instead of 'inflation', 'distroy' instead of 'destroy', and misuses the word 'facilitate' as a noun or adjective equivalent throughout the text ('give many apartments and much people or family can mange... and they amaze and facilitate by these utilities'). While the writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'biodiversity', 'sustainability', and 'infrastructure' (attempted via utilities), the persistent errors in collocation and spelling significantly impede fluency and cause strain for the reader. This corresponds to a Band 5 lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited. The essay relies heavily on long, run-on sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or 'because' rather than a well-controlled mix of simple and complex structures. Frequent grammatical errors occur in almost every sentence, including subject-verb agreement issues ('tall building are', 'GDP are contributed', 'crops are decrease'), tense inconsistencies, and missing articles. For example, 'As urban area should have tall buildings' and 'Other reason is to construction of tall builiding' demonstrate a lack of control over basic syntax and clause structures. These persistent errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance firmly at a Band 4.5 to 5.0 level.
