Student answer (Band 5.5)
Making taller buildings is the biggest approach of any sector all over the world. The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. I agree with this statement because humans fundamental resources can never be neglected at any pace.
First reason, some people prioritize to live at city sites with low budget and they want to migrate towards cities for sake of resources. Humans construct homes at areas with no guidance regarding selection of area may lead towards wildlife destruction, industrial area destroyed, cattles grazing fields shortened and difficulty for farmers due to constructing indvidual houses.
Additionally, some people believe the by constructing enough homes in tall apartment may save time, labour, material because enough budget is required for construction so this way accomodation of large number of people in one builiding may be helpful for alone, needy and old people as well.
Admittedlly, there are several advantages to build enough homes in large cities but there are also some drawbacks. Noise pollution probably increases, air badly affect the enviornment because when people started moving towards cities more for their well-being then population inceases and indirectly pollution inceases so government should plan to make more large houses according to my opinion but there should be proper restrictions that how much person allowed to live in one apartment.
Overall, i think that government should construct tall apartments more for the ease of humans in low budget and then rent out to people at reasonable rates. This way by investing once, governnment also strengthens its economy and people can also use less land for manufacturing of their indvidual houses, then that land can be used by government for other purposes by investing more for public welfare.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear stance agreeing that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities. The writer attempts to support this position with reasons related to saving resources, preventing urban sprawl, and accommodating vulnerable populations efficiently. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and lacks sufficient supporting details or specific examples. For instance, points regarding wildlife destruction and industrial areas are introduced but remain under-developed and disjointed. Furthermore, the counter-argument regarding noise pollution and air quality is touched upon briefly but not fully explored. While all parts of the task are addressed, the ideas would benefit from deeper elaboration and clearer illustration to reach a higher band level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a basic structural organization with an introduction, supporting body paragraphs, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is attempted, though paragraph breaks and internal transitions can feel abrupt. Cohesive devices such as 'First reason', 'Additionally', and 'Overall' are used to signal progression, but their application is sometimes mechanical or imprecise, as seen in phrases like 'First reason,' rather than a full introductory clause. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which creates minor disruptions in the logical flow. While there is a coherent overall arrangement and the progression is generally understandable, the links between sentences and paragraphs lack the seamless flexibility required for higher bands.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating the basic arguments of the task. The writer attempts some less common lexical items, such as 'wildlife destruction', 'accommodation', and 'well-being', but there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation throughout the text, such as 'biggest approach', 'cattles grazing fields', and 'indvidual houses'. Spelling errors like 'indvidual', 'enviornment', 'inceases', and 'Admittedlly' also occur. Although the range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message, these frequent slips in word formation and spelling restrict the lexical score to the mid-range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in grammatical structures. However, frequent errors in grammar and punctuation are present across the response, including missing articles ('build tall apartment blocks'), incorrect prepositions ('prioritize to live at city sites'), and awkward subject-verb agreement or tense usage ('air badly affect', 'population inceases'). Run-on sentences and punctuation slips also occur, such as in the final sentence of the body paragraph ('governnment also strengthens its economy...'). While these errors rarely completely impede communication, their frequency prevents the sentence structures from achieving reliable accuracy.
