Student answer (Band 6.0)
I totally agree that a better way of providing enough houses in large towns is to construct tall apartment blocks as this will reduce housing crisis.
As of present there has been an increase in migration from the countryside to the cities and this is highly influenced by the availablity of jobs, more exposure to the city life , good quality of education and i don't fault anybody because everyone wants to exprience what the city feels like.
On the other hand an increase in individuals migrating to the cities will bring about house shortage, high demand of good apartment and this can futher cause increase in the prices of rent.
Now we have to look for how we can manage the situation by providing various ways on how we can make housing more available to citizens. Since there are limited land building normal storey building can't work, so we have to look for a more efficient method to curb the shortage of housing and that is by building tall apartment blocks consisting of 20 floors which can house up to 100 people. With this we are managing space, resources , house shortage.
For instance, there has been crisis for shortages of house in Lagos, Nigeria as it is a very small state but also a place where lot of oppourtunities are available. The governement officials has thought to construct more house that consists of lot of floors so it can accomodate a lot of people instead of finding new spaces to build house, and this as bring about availability of new homes.
In conclusion, Establishing tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough home in Large Metropolis town as this will reduce housing crisis.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The student addresses all parts of the task, taking a clear and direct position in agreement with the prompt from the introduction to the conclusion. The ideas are relevant, explaining why people migrate to cities, the resulting housing shortage, and why tall apartment blocks are an efficient solution to spatial limitations. For instance, the writer supports the argument with an example from Lagos, Nigeria, illustrating how high-rise construction can accommodate populations in small states. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive or under-developed, and the argument tends to generalise. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance and paragraph structure that moves from introduction to causes, problems, solutions, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'As of present', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance', although some transitions are a bit mechanical or awkward. Referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as 'this as bring about availability', which disrupts the natural flow. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to organise the argument into logical stages, though the progression could be smoother. This warrants a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'urbanisation' concepts, 'housing crisis', and 'metropolis'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'availablity of jobs' (spelling), 'house shortage' instead of 'housing shortage', and 'tall apartment blocks consisting of 20 floors'. Errors in word formation and spelling, such as 'exprience', 'oppourtunities', and 'governement', indicate limited control over less common vocabulary. Communication is not significantly impeded, leading to a Band 5.5 score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('building normal storey building'), comma splices, and incorrect verb tenses ('this as bring about'). Run-on sentences without adequate punctuation also occur, as seen in the second paragraph. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the response from reaching Band 6.0, making Band 5.5 an appropriate descriptor.
