Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modranized world where modern temprament is spreading its scent everwhere, the debate of constructing tall building in citites to provide ample residence to public is becoming quite popular. I partially agree with this stance with some arguments against it.

Lets begin with an argument in the favour of it. As, it is widely accepted that that there is a blast in population growth since last decades and the problem of providing home is increasing. So, if large and tall buildings will be establised then it will be a positive step to deal this issue. For instance, we can have tens to hundrads of appartments in the single tall building in this way numerous families can get accomodations by utilizing less area.

Subsequently, having a appartmental living quater is more pocket friendly then owing a house because, a individual is not paying for land price if, he purchase it.In addition, other bills including gas, electricity and water will be more affordable for the members of community

Also, this will provide a chance to more general public of getting advantages by innovation, development and different facilities including healthcare, education and industries. Furthermore, greater vegetative fields and forests will remain safe. This will promote to environmental and natural habitat safety For example, larger agricultural fields will not be devastated along with forests protection.

However, this trend can lead to more packed cities. There will be a significant increase in number of vehicles on the roads. Additionally, larger cities will proceed to pollution and disease spread. For instance, Lahore is the prominent and famous city of Pakistan having vibrent markets and tall buildings but it is the most polluted city of the world due to its population.

In summary, large buildings can contribute by mannaging large communities in cities. Surprisingly, it is one of the best way to deal this issue. besides, it can can lot of issues like pollution and crowding in cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and exploring both the advantages and disadvantages of building tall apartment blocks in large cities. The student provides relevant ideas, such as maximizing land efficiency, cost benefits, and environmental preservation, while also balancing this with concerns regarding urban crowding and pollution. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or general, such as the brief mentions of utility bills and industrial access. Overall, the prompt is successfully addressed, earning a Band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing separating different arguments, an introduction, and a summary conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader, such as 'Lets begin with an argument', 'Subsequently', and 'However'. Nevertheless, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some transitional links feel a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is utilised adequately, but paragraph transitions could be smoother to achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for an academic discussion, including terms like 'accomodations', 'pocket friendly', 'environmental and natural habitat safety', and 'prominent'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'modranized', 'temprament', 'everwhere', 'establised', 'hundrads', 'appartments', and 'mannaging'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5 due to the frequency of incorrect word forms and typos.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an ability to construct multi-clause sentences with subordinating conjunctions like 'where' and 'if'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, such as missing articles ('deal this issue', 'in single tall building'), awkward phrasing ('owing a house because, a individual is not paying'), and run-on structures. Control of grammar is inconsistent, though meaning remains understandable overall, making Band 5.5 the most appropriate descriptor.
