Student answer (Band 5.5)

The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. To some extent i am aggree with this statement as according to some searches the population rate is much higher today than in past so thats why people are facing many difficulities such as a very facinating or beneficial place for their homes which will be nearer to their houses so for full filling these needs one of the option is to build tall apartment blocks to priovide everyone with facilities and the other option is to make homes.

Firstly, if we talk about building apartment blocks to provide enough home would be a great option as it encourages people to live in one society like their own family and give a very natural environment and a great quality of life. Living in apart has many benefits as its provide a good space for living in much cost friendly buget and also if aparments are designed by a good architechturer they must set the design to keep privacy of every family in there importance w=but this is not the case in all.

Many people also beleives that to provide enough homes apartments would'nt be a good idea as appartments are very saturated and often build by the cunstructor who are not good at all. Also appartments does not have such safety precutions as proper fire extiguisher systems or fire alarms or anti theft system so we might think about these circumstances as well.

In conclusion, to provide enough homes in larger cities to build apartments can be a great way but only if the apparments are designed accordiing to all the advantages and there must be no drawbacks and if they are buget friendly but of you need proper privacy and quality of life in larger cities homes can be build and facilites can be increase to meet the demand.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the extent of agreement regarding tall apartment blocks as a housing solution. The writer presents a clear, albeit partially developed, position stating that they agree to some extent. Main ideas are presented, such as community benefits, cost-effectiveness, and potential drawbacks like saturation and safety concerns. However, the development of these ideas lacks depth and specific supporting examples from general knowledge. Sentences such as 'according to some searches the population rate is much higher today than in past' are vague and general. Because all parts of the task are addressed and a position is maintained throughout, this performance aligns well with Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors, specifically fitting the Band 6 level where relevant ideas are presented but remain somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is organized into four distinct paragraphs with a discernible introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Overall, the essay displays a logical structure, but coherence is frequently disrupted by run-on sentences and poor referencing. For instance, the introduction is a single, extremely long, and convoluted sentence ('To some extent i am aggree with this statement as according to some searches...'). Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'w=but this is not the case in all.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow of sentences can be disjointed, which pulls the score down into the Band 5.0 range where some organization is evident, but overall progression and mechanical cohesion are flawed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range to communicate basic ideas related to housing, cities, and architecture (e.g., 'population rate', 'architechturer', 'safety precutions'). However, there are numerous spelling errors ('aggree', 'difficulities', 'facinating', 'priovide', 'buget', 'architechturer', 'beleives', 'appartments', 'extiguisher', 'accordiing'), and word choices are frequently imprecise or awkward ('very facinating or beneficial place for their homes'). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, but persistent inaccuracies in spelling and word choice cause some strain for the reader, placing the lexical performance firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on lengthy, unpunctuated compound sentences joined by conjunctions like 'and' or 'so'. Complex structures are attempted but are frequently faulty or incomplete, as seen in the opening sentence and the conclusion. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('appartments does not have', 'facilites can be increase') and missing articles or prepositions. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. The grammar is characteristic of a Band 5.0 level, where a limited range of structures is used and frequent errors persist.
