Student answer (Band 4.5)

Thats an interesting and hot topic, yes i agree but i have other oppionion also so, personally i believe that tall apartsments block are very helpful to people that maigrate from villages to cities because of poor facilities no no facilities in villages. They can move cities for these facilities and make better future .Their childern can get good education and job opportunitiesin city but on the other hand they face many problems like they can face fainanical burdern as they have to pay for water to frink as villages there are natural resoures of water so its kind of burdern for them. The school are much expensive rather than villages. They can face small space issue as hey belongs to village so in village there are wide and huge spaces .On one hand its good for their future and their childern but they face mang issues.

I want to share my own experience like i belong to village side si as we know there are no facilities there so my baba decide ti move islamabad for my studies and his better job ,so we move there.we go through a lot of thing fainanically and i get upset because of minimum place to play or doing anything that we do in village easily but in city these thing made us kind of tired but we want to get things better anf decide ti have some patience ,things will get better in sha Allah.our belive and patience make us to adjust in situation and hope and prayers for better future .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt regarding whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities, though it interprets the prompt primarily through the lens of rural-to-urban migration and personal experience. A position is stated, noting both the benefits for future opportunities and the practical drawbacks such as financial burdens and smaller living spaces. However, the development of ideas is limited and relies heavily on personal anecdote rather than broader societal arguments. The reasoning tends to wander and over-generalise, lacking the sustained argumentation expected at higher bands. Consequently, the task response aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptors, where the topic is addressed but ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organisation of the text is severely hindered by a lack of proper paragraphing, as the student writes in two massive, unstructured blocks of text. There is an absence of clear logical progression between sentences, and cohesive devices are either missing or misused, relying on rudimentary transitions like 'on the other hand' or repetitive phrasing. Referencing is frequently unclear, and punctuation errors further disrupt the flow of reading. While there is a recognisable attempt to sequence thoughts about migration and personal experience, the overall arrangement is faulty and lacks structural cohesion. This performance fits the Band 4 descriptors well, where information and ideas are not arranged coherently.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by severe spelling errors such as 'apartsments', 'maigrate', 'childern', 'fainanical', 'burdern', 'frink', 'resoures', and 'anf'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to migration and urban life, but the high frequency of lexical and spelling inaccuracies causes noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscures meaning in places. Expressions such as 'hot topic' and 'better future' are overly conversational and lack the appropriate register for an academic task. These limitations place the lexical resource firmly at Band 4, where basic vocabulary and frequent errors strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay, demonstrating a very limited range of structures. The text is dominated by run-on sentences, comma splices, and basic subject-verb agreement issues, such as 'The school are much expensive' and 'we move there.we go through'. Complex structures are attempted but are generally faulty, and punctuation is largely neglected or used incorrectly. Frequent errors in tense consistency and sentence boundaries distort the meaning in several places and require the reader to decode the intended message. This corresponds to the Band 4 descriptor level, where errors are frequent and often distort meaning.
