Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays , the courage of living in big cities is increased day by day .Largest buildings are great idea for giving living space to everyone in cities .I'm agree with this statement because of some reasons that i will disucess in upcoming pharagraphs.
To begin with, by built tall apartments , people can save land and get a afordable housing. To explain it , if contracters bulit tall bhuilding they can use less land and make more houses because large building needs less space as comared to small single story houses , also when apartment are small ,then they are less expensive. For example,in dubai burj khalifa have 163 floors its a largest buliding of world and it cover a less space from 163 single story houses. Therefore , making tall buildings are best way to provide homes to all individuals in short land.
Moreover,if people make a large building ,then they can use rest of land for other activities. To clear that, they can use other land for framing, industries , parks , school and for other facilities. That not only help them to take advantage of other activites but also they can earn good money by doing farming and runing busniess.in this way , they can get a good homes to live in tall apartments at the same time they can use other amenties .Also , they dont need to cut forests to make homes due to tall building ,in this way they can save their enivronment like- forests.
overall, although , individuals have option to make single houses but accroding to me , tall buildings are imaging way to provide homes to everyone because in this way , they not only saves land and environment but also they can use other facilities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. The student provides relevant ideas, such as saving land for other activities and making housing more affordable. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, relying on generalizations without deep exploration. For instance, the mention of the Burj Khalifa is an interesting example, but it is not fully tied back to standard residential housing solutions in typical large cities. Overall, the response meets the criteria for Band 5, as it addresses the task and presents a clear position, but the ideas remain somewhat basic and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text is divided into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by mechanical and faulty cohesive devices. The phrases used to transition, such as 'To begin with,' 'To explain it,' and 'To clear that,' are somewhat unnatural and repetitively structured. Furthermore, referencing and punctuation errors (such as spaces before commas and periods) make the flow disjointed. Although there is an underlying organization, the cohesive devices are often inadequate or inaccurate, placing this response firmly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and basic, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'afordable,' 'contracters,' and 'amenties,' but spelling errors are frequent throughout the text (e.g., 'bhuilding,' 'comared,' 'busniess,' 'enivronment,' 'accroding,' 'imaging'). Word choice is also frequently imprecise, as seen in phrases like 'the courage of living' instead of 'the cost of living' or 'the urge to live.' While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic message, the density of spelling and lexical errors restricts the score to a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on standard band level characteristics for basic expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional and relative structures (e.g., 'if contracters bulit tall bhuilding they can use less land...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article use, and tense consistency (e.g., 'Largest buildings are great idea,' 'apartment are small, then they are less expensive,' 'they dont need to cut forests'). Punctuation is also poorly handled, with spaces placed incorrectly before punctuation marks. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar performance at a Band 5 level.
