Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the phenomenon of providing homes is to build a huge residance block in large urban cities has become remarkably widespread. I completely agree with this perspective because it has enviromental benefits and it can also save enough space for different companies.

First and foremost, enviromental advangates serves as a compelling justification for this viewpoint. This is primarly because when the a large number of people lives in one apartment will lead to have more space for agriculture and green spaces. A clear example of this can be seen in well-develop urban cities where in one building thousands of inidividuals lives togather which saves place for agriculture where a farmar can grow different kind of food instead of importing. besides that it also mitigate deforestation. Thus, it become evident that this shift is far more beneficial than having inidividual housing.

Secondly, development of distinct organizations futher reinforces why this position is valid. In another words, when companies are build, it leads to empoyment opportunities. For instance, When there are enough free space which can be use for factories it will lead to a huge rise in job opportunities. In addition, when there are enough job for everyone it will decrease competitions in empoyement.

In conclusion, I strongly hold that constructing of large buiding far outweigh inidivdual housing due to decrease in deforstration and save that space for agriculture and having numerous companies and factories which give easy access to jobs. Looking ahead, society should recognize this trend to ensure sustainable process

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position on whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities. The student provides reasons to support this view, specifically citing environmental benefits such as mitigating deforestation and preserving land for agriculture, as well as economic benefits related to space for companies and job creation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of job opportunities relies on basic supporting points rather than fully extended arguments. Although the arguments are relevant, they tend to over-generalize and lack specific real-world examples beyond vague references to 'well-developed urban cities.' Consequently, the task response aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors because it addresses all parts of the prompt with relevant ideas, but these ideas remain somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct main ideas. Cohesive devices are employed to signal logical progression, such as 'First and foremost,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion.' However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and faulty. For instance, referencing is occasionally unclear or awkward, as seen in phrases like 'when the a large number of people lives' and 'In another words.' Furthermore, the transitional phrases do not always flow naturally, leading to a somewhat choppy progression. While the organizational structure is discernible and holds the essay together, these noticeable flaws in cohesive control and referencing place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'phenomenon,' 'mitigate deforestation,' and 'sustainable process.' However, there are frequent spelling errors and word-choice inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'residance,' 'enviromental,' 'advangates,' 'primarly,' 'develop,' 'inidividuals,' 'togather,' 'farmar,' 'inidividual,' 'futher,' 'empoyment,' 'buiding,' and 'defrostration.' Although these errors are noticeable and detract from the quality of the writing, they rarely impede overall communication, as the reader can still grasp the intended meaning. The student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary related to urbanization and agriculture, but the high frequency of lexical and spelling errors prevents the score from reaching a higher band, making Band 5.0 a fair and accurate assessment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response incorporates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to use relative clauses and subordinate structures (e.g., 'when a large number of people lives in one apartment will lead to...'). However, these complex structures are frequently faulty and contain serious grammatical errors. There are numerous issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence fragments, such as 'the phenomenon of providing homes is to build a huge residance block... has become remarkably widespread' and 'when there are enough free space which can be use for factories it will lead to a huge rise.' Frequent errors in verb tenses and clause construction cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the sentences from being consistently accurate. Therefore, the grammatical performance corresponds to the Band 5 descriptors.
