Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the present times, as per the data, population of the world in increasing day by day and the need for the accomodation is also increasing very rapidly, the suitable way to get a possible solution for this is to construct apartments, so that less space can be occupuied and more people can live in big cities.I strongly agree that to accomodate more people, apartments can be a good solution to this problem.
Most people consider living in the big cities because it provides them with more job opportunites, everthing is accessible and available as per the need. but in the present times accomodation issues are arising each day, to cater this issue, constructing apartments can be very helpful, as it will be providing homes to alot more people who can work and contribute to the economy.
As far as the large cities are considered, everyone wishes to live in the cities so that they can enjoy the nightlife and healthy-work culture, living near their work places. Building homes in a form of apartment is necessary because as per my friend, who went to United Kingdom on a work visa stated that he was unable to find an accomodation neaby his office due to lack of apartments in the city, Everyday he was travelling from another town, which took him extra 1 hour to reach his office every single day, and this was the case for most of the people.
I strongly am of the view that more apartment contructions should be encouraged, so that every individual gets the right to live, work independently and enjoy a bright city life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. The candidate takes a clear, consistent position in agreement throughout the essay. Main ideas are presented, such as economic contributions, accessibility of jobs, and mitigating the lack of housing. However, the development of ideas tends to be repetitive and relies heavily on a single personal anecdote about a friend in the United Kingdom rather than broader sociological or economic arguments. While all parts of the task are addressed, the support remains somewhat limited and under-developed, aligning best with a Band 6.0 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance established in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used, separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion appropriately. However, cohesion within sentences and paragraphs is often faulty or mechanical. For instance, the opening sentence is an extremely long, run-on clause ('In the present times, as per the data, population of the world in increasing day by day and the need for the accomodation is also increasing very rapidly, the suitable way to get a possible solution for this is to construct apartments...'). Referencing and transitions between ideas lack seamless integration, placing this response firmly in the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range to communicate ideas about urban housing and employment opportunities. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'accomodation' (repeatedly misspelled with a single 'm' and double 'c'), 'occupuied', 'opportunites', 'everthing', and 'contructions'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with occasional inaccuracies in collocation, such as 'Building homes in a form of apartment'. Although these errors are present, the meaning remains generally clear throughout, which is characteristic of Band 5.5 lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. The text contains frequent run-on sentences, comma splices, and punctuation lapses, such as missing terminal punctuation before starting a new sentence ('...live in big cities.I strongly agree...'). There are also agreement and tense issues, such as 'population of the world in increasing'. While the meaning is rarely completely obscured, the high frequency of grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes prevents the response from achieving a Band 6.0.
