Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is often argued that better way to give enough accommodation in developed urban area to build huge apartment blocks, while some may have different view on these issues. I strongly agree with this opinion. My stance will be justified in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.

The primary reason why I agree with this statement is that tall buildings in large cities to people get significate life style to maintain work and family. This is mainly because of developed cities provide opportunities in career, when person change their place there first priority to find home and settle. For instance, generally students move abroad for being independent they find better apartment in large cities to build higher blocks is best way. As a result, home should be first priority for peoples.

Another significate reasons for my position is that build homes in large cities that provide economic beneficiates. Business man and workers get varies facilities to build new opportunities and provide jobs for employee. For example, developed area build blocks for people to live and do work. Unfortunately, city get tax from all who live that place. Therefore, home in new city helps to get funds to improve apartment.

In conclusion, although there has some drawback to build blocks in large cities, may it help in economy from business and industries. I believe that best way to provide home in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student addresses the task by clearly stating a position agreeing with the prompt that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. The response attempts to support this position with reasons such as lifestyle maintenance and economic benefits. However, the ideas are under-developed, vague, and lack specific, well-articulated examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 241 words, which incurs a penalty on Task Achievement. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of sufficient length and the superficial depth of the arguments place this at a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and poor cohesion. Cohesive devices are either repetitive or used inaccurately, such as 'The primary reason why I agree...' followed by a confusing explanation, or 'Another significate reasons...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal flow of ideas within paragraphs lacks clarity, making it sometimes difficult to follow the writer's line of thought. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. These features align closely with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'better way to give enough accommodation', 'significate life style', 'beneficiates', and 'Business man'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'accommodations' and 'opportunities', but collocation and word choice are frequently flawed (e.g., 'build higher blocks is best way', 'city get tax'). The range is minimally adequate for the task, but frequent word-formation and spelling errors restrict the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are often faulty and contain frequent grammar errors. Examples of structural issues include missing verbs, incorrect prepositions, and agreement errors, such as 'there first priority to find home', 'tall buildings in large cities to people get', and 'although there has some drawback to build blocks'. Punctuation is basic and sometimes missing. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader while limiting the range of accurate structures, the grammar performance reflects a Band 5.0.
