Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, the ongoing debate topic is about the methods to give enough homes in huge cities to built large apartment blocks while some individuals advocate for its widespread adption other express concerns regarding its potential drawbacks.I strongly admitted to this statement in this essay will examine both prospectives before offering a reasonable conclusion.

One of the most significant advantage of building tall apartment blocks is that it can consume small area in which thousands of poeples live in this area also best for the students in cities because most of them comes form the villages to study in big city for this purpose it can be helpful for them. For instance, it can lead to many benefits such as saving money because peoples can rent it with low prices and live comfortly on the other hand, if they buy house so it can be diificult to takecare them. Therefore, from this prospective it become evident that it offers substaintial benefits which can positively influence individuals and society as a whole.

Conversely critics highlight several drawbacks. One pressing concern is that by following this the privacy of individuals can disturbed and also peoples through waste from their windows to the nearby area so it can cause air pollution also leads to different kind of diseases.Furthermore, also childrens cannot play in outdoor area because their is not too much space is available.

In conclusion, although building apartments presents clear advantages, it is equally important to consider associated risks.Personally i believed that governments needs to buid such apartments in big cities so that population can be controlled.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities, and a personal position is established. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on advantages mentions saving money and space, but lacks specific, well-developed supporting examples. Furthermore, the counter-arguments regarding privacy and pollution are briefly stated without deep elaboration. While the prompt is addressed and a position is maintained, the ideas tend to be repetitive and lack the full extension required for higher band levels. This places the performance firmly in the Band 5 category.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, progression is frequently hindered by inadequate and misused cohesive devices. Phrases like 'for this purpose it can be helpful' and 'from this prospective it become evident' demonstrate mechanical and repetitive linking. Additionally, referencing is often unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'so it can be difficult to takecare them'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak, resulting in run-on sentences and a lack of smooth logical flow. These features align closely with the descriptors for Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'widespread adption' and 'substaintial benefits', but these are marred by frequent spelling and word-choice errors. There are multiple noticeable lexical errors, including 'prospectives' instead of perspectives, 'poeples', and 'takecare'. Furthermore, collocations are often unnatural, such as 'consume small area' or 'peoples through waste from their windows'. While the meaning can generally be discerned, these persistent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. Punctuation is a major issue, characterized by missing periods, run-on sentences, and missing capitalization, as seen in 'drawbacks. One pressing concern' and 'Personally i believed'. Grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and subject-verb agreement issues like 'childrens cannot play' and 'governments needs to buid'. These errors frequently cause strain and difficulty for the reader. The control of grammar is weak, placing this performance at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the overall structural attempts.
