Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widley people want to live in cities, because cities provides all the faclities. some people prefer to live homes and some prefer to live in tall apartment blocks. But the best way to provide homes in large cities to build tall apartment block. I agree this statement to in tall apartment blocks.

Initily, cities are very crowded and find a house in urban area is very difficult. Moreover, in big cities buy a home or build new house is very challenging sometimes. In addition, residents want a better house, and mostly people make house scheme for individuals who want to live in a house. They build tall apartments blocks and these flat a better for small and exened family. The prime example is my own experience is, I live in a flat with my family. Additionlly, the building is very tall and 75 apartments in one building. There are total 3 buildings and its provides us better flat and also give security..

Secondly, why apartment is better, because mostly community makes roles for society. However, its also save our money and give better life. Due to society people are close to each other and live like a family. For instance, last year my niece she is just 5 years old and she forget her apartment number and also she do not tell her name to random people becuse she scared in a road. But our apartment community makes some roles and give us security so, they easliy find my niece.

In conclusion, I agree this statement tall apartment is better to house in large cities. Furthermore, live in apartment is very luxery and also provides us security and opportunities to live comfortable in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, supportive position on building tall apartment blocks to solve housing shortages in large cities. The writer presents relevant ideas, such as population density, cost-efficiency, and community security. However, these ideas are underdeveloped and lack sophisticated extension. For instance, the discussion on family structures and safety is somewhat anecdotal and repetitive. There is a tendency to overgeneralise without backing claims with deeper socio-economic arguments. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at logical sequencing with transition markers like 'Initily' (Initially), 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, overall progression is hindered by poor paragraph transitions and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or awkward, such as 'In addition, residents want a better house, and mostly people make house scheme for individuals...'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the exact logical flow. Overall paragraphing is present, but mechanical misuse of cohesive elements aligns this response with a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'community', 'opportunities', and 'luxery', but these are accompanied by frequent spelling and word-choice errors like 'widley' (widely), 'faclities' (facilities), 'exened' (extended), and 'roles' (rules). These errors occasionally cause minor strain for the reader, though general meaning remains discernible. The lexical control reflects Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. Attempts at complex or compound structures are frequently faulty, such as 'It is widley people want to live in cities, because cities provides all the faclities' and 'she is just 5 years old and she forget her apartment number and also she do not tell her name...'. Grammatical errors and punctuation mistakes are frequent throughout the text, causing difficulty for the reader and matching the Band 4.5 descriptors.
