Student answer (Band 5.5)
as the population of large cities continues to grow, providing enough homes has become a majoe challenge.some people believe that building tall apartment blocks is best solution to this problem.I agree with this veiw because high_rise_buildings can accommodate more people while using less land.
firstly, tall apartment blocks can provide homes for large number of people in a limited area. In large cities, land is often expensive and limited,sp building houses separately requires more space. in contrast high-rise buildings can accommodate hundreds of families on a small piece of land therefore, they can help reduce the shortage of housing in crowded cities.
for instance,if we live in an appartment in which a lot of facilties and a very high security.a housewife are very safe their husband and children are going to work and they are alone she is safe because peoples are lived there next to dorr and in the parking everything available their.
secondly,high-rise apartments can leave more space for parks and other public facilities.if houses are built separately across a large area, mosst of the land may be used for housing.however, tall building use less ground space,so the remaing land can be used for parks, school, roads and other important facilities.this can make large cities more organized and comfortable for residents.
on the other hand, many families living in one building may have less personal space.lifts, parking areas, and common spaces can become crowded.a large number of residents can create more noise.
in conclusion,i agree that building tall appartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities.they can accommodate more people in a limited area and save land for parks, school and other public facilities.therefore,high-rise buildings can be an effective solution to the housing problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by presenting a clear position agreeing with the statement and supporting it with relevant ideas. The writer discusses how tall apartment blocks save land and accommodate large populations, while also dedicating a counter-argument paragraph to discuss the disadvantages, such as lack of personal space and noise. Ideas are generally well extended, although the example provided in the second paragraph regarding a housewife feeling safe is somewhat convoluted and under-developed. Nevertheless, the main arguments are clear and directly answer the task question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs addressing the main arguments and counter-argument, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'firstly', 'secondly', 'on the other hand', and 'in conclusion' are used to structure the text logically. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in minor awkward transitions and punctuation issues between sentences. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, guiding the reader through the writer's perspective.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'accommodate', 'shortage', and 'facilities'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('majoe', 'veiw', 'appartment', 'facilties', 'remaing') and issues with word formation or typos ('high_rise_buildings', 'sp building'). While these errors do not impede overall communication, they prevent the lexical score from reaching higher bands. The range is minimally adequate to convey the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures ('if houses are built separately across a large area, mosst of the land may be used for housing') and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in punctuation and capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ('as the population...', 'firstly, tall...'). Grammatical accuracy is inconsistent, with run-on sentences and awkward phrasing particularly evident in the second body paragraph ('a housewife are very safe their husband and children...'). These errors sometimes cause difficulty for the reader.
