Student answer (Band 4.5)
The better method to provide enough homes in big cities is to build tall apartment blocks. I completely agree with this idea, This is because, through this way we can save the argirculture areas and also people can buy afforable homes.
There are main reasons but the main reason is that through this plan we can save the agriculture area and these area people can use for agricultures works. For example, if many people build their own home in different seperate lands and location, than people face to less agriculture land problems, also face the shorter of food problems. Moreover, through this method public should build just one taller build on just one land and make many different type of blocks in the buildin, than many people live in just one area of building and we can use other lands for argricultures works like production works etc. Therefore, this is a benefits way to save the argriculture lands.
The second main reason is that many people want to live in their separate home with their family, but nowadays, saparate homes are too expensives. For instance, poor people who want to live in their home and they do not have enough money have to buy any home. Apartment is a great opportunity to buy their own homes, becasue apartment far expensive than their own separate home, Furthermore, everyone specially poor people can buy their own apartment through this way, and they can become complete their drama that lives in a apartment. Aas a result, different apartment are afforable blocks for everyone.
In conclusion, save argircultures lands and apartment blocks are afforable for everyone are the main reason why I agree with is plan.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in complete agreement with the statement that building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide homes in large cities. The student attempts to support this position with two main arguments: saving agricultural land and providing affordable housing options. However, the development of these ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the discussion around saving agricultural land revolves around the same basic premise without deep extension, and the points regarding affordability are somewhat confused and difficult to follow. While all parts of the task are addressed, the ideas remain under-developed and lack the depth expected for higher bands, placing the response at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The text is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a standard essay structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is hindered by frequent structural and mechanical issues. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the overuse of 'through this method' and 'moreover'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and punctuation errors (e.g., comma splices like 'completely agree with this idea, This is because...') disrupt the flow. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logical links within paragraphs are weak, resulting in an overall coherence that aligns with Band 4.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The student uses a very basic and repetitive vocabulary. There are numerous spelling and word-choice errors that frequently impede communication, such as 'argirculture' instead of 'agriculture', 'afforable' instead of 'affordable', 'seperate' instead of 'separate', and 'shorter of food' instead of 'shortage of food'. Less common lexical items are attempted, but they are consistently inaccurate in form and collocation (e.g., 'benefits way', 'complete their drama'). The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for expressing very basic thoughts, corresponding to a Band 4.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The writing demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and flawed attempts at complex clauses. Errors in grammar and punctuation are frequent and pervasive throughout the response, often distorting the meaning or causing significant difficulty for the reader (e.g., 'apartment far expensive than their own separate home', 'if many people build their own home in different seperate lands and location, than people face to less agriculture land problems'). Subject-verb agreement, article usage, and prepositions are frequently incorrect. These pervasive errors place the response firmly at Band 4.0.
