Student answer (Band 5.0)
The most beneficial way to provide sufficient homes in big cities is to construct colossal apartment block.
I do agree with the statement to a reasonable extent, as there is an undeniable scarcity and shortage of accomodation in these metropolis, and the system needs amendment in the housing crisis. Therefore i think for now we do have to let the construction of high rise building to fulfill the housing shortage accordingly but I don't presume that this alone will solve the issue, as a matter of fact it might lead to some other environmental problems such as endless construction will provide more and more air pollution to the environment, as well as to the people already living in the building going under construction. Driving from my own experience, we saw an open breathable around my home going under construction to feeling like a chamber in just months because of the housing crisis in my area. It lead to alot if suffocation but it also became home to many families and students who are not day scholars. The back of my home had a huge ground which we uses to play in and the elders rnjoyed their brisk walks and chit-chats there but since a construction has begun their for a multiple story building it lead to all the relaxing activities to a stop.
To summarise I conquer that the building of tall apartment blocks to provide home to the people in need should be done but to an understandable way, where the people already living there wont face too many problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The student addresses the prompt by stating a position ('I do agree with the statement to a reasonable extent') and provides some reasons and personal examples, such as the construction near their home turning an open area into a confined space. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on anecdotal, personal narrative rather than fully expanded academic arguments. The position is clear, but the main body ideas are somewhat repetitive and under-developed, placing this response at Band 5.5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction, a very long single body paragraph containing multiple shifts in topic, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore i think', 'as a matter of fact', and 'To summarise', but punctuation and sentence boundaries are frequently faulty. Paragraphing is weak because the entire body of the argument is crammed into one massive, unstructured paragraph. This lack of clear logical progression and inadequate paragraphing results in a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'colossal', 'metropolis', 'amendment', and 'suffocation'. However, there are noticeable word choice and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'accomodation' instead of accommodation, 'i' instead of I, 'let the construction... to fulfill', 'alot' instead of a lot, and 'conquer' instead of concur. These errors and limited precision in collocations constrain the lexical score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts some complex sentences, but they are frequently marred by structural errors, run-on structures, and punctuation mistakes. For example, sentences like 'Driving from my own experience, we saw an open breathable around my home going under construction to feeling like a chamber in just months because of the housing crisis in my area' contain confusing grammar and awkward phrasing. Frequent errors in verb tenses, prepositions ('since a construction has begun their for a multiple story building'), and capitalization are present, yielding a Band 5.0.
