Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays time, people built alot of home in their cities, if we talk about those people who are living in the big cities from the time of their ancestors then they can build houses in their own land they bouht long time ago and they have no issue in that. But if we talk about those people who moves to the big cities with their families for the seek of better future then the obviuosly need to build their own homes or buy by themselves. So on the other hand if we take a look on big cities these days like Lahore and Islamabad then we will come to know that, In the todays time there is no enough place in these big cities to build home in the private area liuke 5 marla or 1 kanal. And if someone wants to buys those places then thats too much expensive for a normal person who runs his home from a salary, so only a rich person who have crores in his hand can buy those houses in a private sector. Now, we come to the point of building appartment block and high rise building to provide homes to the people. That perspective is quite sensible and reasonable in todays time because it takes almost 2 canals of land maximum to build a high rise building in which a good builder can provide 50 appartments minuimum and it can be one bed or two bed appartments.Furthermore in my opinion a proper family of 5 persons can easily live a luxurious lifestyle in those appartment.
Appartment block can adjust many people in very less space and provide every facility which a person can acquire in a private sector.
On the other hand if we talk about the high rise building made in Lahore and Islamabad by good developers the we will come to know that they provide alot of facilities in their appartment like, a private swimming people of their community, shopping mart, and basement parking for the securing of their cars and bikes. Moreover, they provide proper security in those appartment with CCTV cameras and security persons.
Furthermore they provide 24 hours electricity, water supply and gas supply for their daily use.
so i completely agree with the statement that appartments are the best way to provide homes in big cities these days.
And in conclusion i can say that building appartments is the best way to provide luxurious and safe lifestyle to the people living in big cities because its less expensive and everyone with a reasonable budget can acquire their own home for their families. And on the otherhand, it is quite useful for the local government.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The candidate addresses all parts of the prompt by taking a clear position ('I completely agree') on whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes in large cities. Relevant examples, such as cities like Lahore and Islamabad, are provided to support the argument. Ideas are extended with explanations regarding land scarcity, affordability, and amenities like parking, security, and utilities. However, the development tends to be somewhat repetitive in the middle paragraphs, and the reasoning could be more concise and academically formal. Overall, the response meets the requirements for a Band 6.0 as it presents a clear position and relevant ideas, though some parts are slightly under-developed or wordy.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an overall coherent progression, moving from the problem of land shortages to the solution of high-rise living, and concluding with a clear summary and restatement of the writer's position. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are quite long and combine multiple ideas without sufficient separation. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'And in conclusion' are used, though they are at times mechanical or repetitive (e.g., starting multiple sentences with 'Furthermore'). Referencing is mostly clear, but the flow is occasionally disrupted by run-on sentences and punctuation issues. This corresponds to Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their ideas about housing, cities, and amenities (e.g., 'luxurious lifestyle', 'swimming pool', 'shopping mart', '24 hours electricity'). However, there are numerous lexical and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'alot', 'bouht', 'obviuosly', 'liuke', 'marla', 'appartment', 'minuimum', 'appartment', and 'securing'. These errors demonstrate a limited control of word forms and spelling, though communication is generally not impeded. These features place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures (e.g., 'if we talk about those people who...'). However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in verb tense consistency, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a rich person who have', 'people built alot of home'), missing articles, run-on sentences joined by commas, and incorrect capitalization/punctuation. While the meaning remains discernible, the high frequency of grammatical and mechanical errors restricts the score to Band 5.0.
