Student answer (Band 4.5)
This is pretty way to provide homes in big cities to construct vast apartments. moreover i agree with this statement and i am discuss detaile on this topic.
To my point of view in large cities this is the best and easiest way to construct flats because in large cities the area is already massively cove . for example the rural peoples move to urban areas and this is poviding the best location and facilities is a big challenge . i live in lahore and i also facing this problem . this is the big challeng for me to find best house because no one is free some are free but they have more rental expanses thats why i agree on this point .
on the other hand this responsibility is governament .governament should be work on this problem and guide or promote this kind of thinking to build the apartsments in large cities .but more over other cities like i am live in pakistan they have lot of cities in this country like nankana sahib and same like other cities there is no problem to only build homes or apartments in tall building because this kind of cities is already small.
In conclusion this is pretty good way to build apartments in tall buildings in vast cities more over t is no problem to build homes on land like in small cities . but my point of view is build large building to show this country is well organize .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide homes in large cities. The writer presents a clear position agreeing with the statement. However, the development of ideas is limited and often superficial. While the student mentions personal experience, such as living in Lahore and facing housing challenges, the points regarding rural-urban migration and government responsibility are underdeveloped and jump between disjointed thoughts. The reasoning tends to over-generalize and lacks sufficient depth or specific supporting evidence. Consequently, the response meets the criteria for Band 5, as the task is addressed, but the ideas remain restricted and lack clear, sustained progression.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with a basic introduction, body points, and a conclusion, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is handled poorly, with run-on thoughts and abrupt topic shifts within blocks of text. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, as seen with transitional phrases like 'moreover i agree' and 'on the other hand' which are mechanically applied without establishing logical relationships between sentences. Pronoun referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the train of thought. These issues place the response firmly at Band 4.0 in terms of overall cohesion and logical arrangement.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, struggling to convey precise meanings. Words and phrases like 'pretty way', 'vast apartments', and 'rental expanses' demonstrate a limited range and incorrect word choices or collocations. There are numerous spelling and word-formation errors throughout the text, including 'detaile', 'cove' for covered, 'peoples', 'challeng', 'governament', and 'apartsments'. These errors frequently strain the reader and obscure the intended meaning. The lexical repertoire is restricted to common, everyday terms with very few attempts at less common vocabulary, fitting the Band 4.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatically, the text relies on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences result in severe structural faults and frequent errors. There is a lack of control over basic grammatical rules, including subject-verb agreement, capitalization, punctuation, and article usage. Examples such as 'i am discuss detaile' and 'this is the big challeng for me to find best house because no one is free' illustrate the persistent inaccuracies. Errors are frequent, impede communication in several places, and distort meaning, aligning the writing with Band 4.0 performance for grammar and accuracy.
