Student answer (Band 5.0)
To build appartment blocks to provide adequate accomodation has become a topic of debate over the past years. In this essay we will discuss both opinions either we should build tall buildings or not, but in my opinion i will agree to build skyskappers for enough homes in urban areas.
over the past few years due to innovation of technology everyone is moving to larger cities for enhanced quality of life and better healthcare from countryside.
as there are less number of career opportunities and limited access to healthcare and offices, more and more people are migrating to urban areas from vilage areas. In order to accomodate the number of migrated community in fast paced urban life, government should construct buildings with enough appartments and floors so we can entertain the people who came for their better career growth, lifestyle and facilities. For example, if we do not provide enough housing for living then cities will become congested and less fascinating and represents less developed country.
Although city life is fascinating and more innovative as compared to countryside but there are some drawbacks also. stating with traffic congestion and more pollution in city as compared to peaceful and clean atmosphere of village life.
Due to more rush and number of vehicles traffic problems has increased tremendously in urban areas leading to more pollution and contaminated air. In addition, due to fast paced life of city people have become less social and friendly as comapred to villagers. for Instance, neighbourhood is less in city relatively to neighbourhood in village where people came out for gossips or tea in evenings.
Coming to conclusion, In my opinion, I would say there are more potential benefits for constructing skyskappers and providing sufficient accomodation for housing and living is far more as compared to not. I would suggest government should take necessary measures to make city life more confortable and accessible to everyone by developing more skyskappers and hospital buildings and offices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether building tall apartment blocks is the best solution for urban housing, ultimately taking a clear position in agreement. The student attempts to present reasons for their view, such as rural-urban migration, career opportunities, and healthcare access. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the mention of disadvantages like traffic congestion and pollution introduces a slight deviation from the core prompt regarding tall buildings specifically, though it relates to urban density. Overall, the ideas are relevant but require further extension and more precise support to reach a higher band. This performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays an overall coherent arrangement, and the writer attempts to structure the text into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly executed; the second and third body paragraphs lack clear separation or logical transitions, running ideas together. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as 'stating with' instead of 'starting with', and 'Coming to conclusion'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear. While the progression of ideas can be followed, the structural and cohesive weaknesses place this response firmly in the Band 5 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words such as 'accommodate', 'congested', and 'contaminated'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the essay, including 'appartment' instead of 'apartment', 'accomodation' instead of 'accommodation', 'skyskappers' instead of 'skyscrapers', 'vilage' instead of 'village', and 'confortable' instead of 'comfortable'. Word choice and collocations are also occasionally imprecise, such as 'number of migrated community'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the lexical quality, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 5 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Issues include faulty subject-verb agreement and preposition use, such as 'in my opinion i will agree to build', 'due to innovation of technology', and 'neighbourhood is less in city relatively to neighbourhood in village'. Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with lowercase letters starting sentences. These frequent structural errors keep the score at Band 5.
