Student answer (Band 6.0)
World population is growing day by day and that leads to increase demand for housing. I totally agree that the best way to overcome this problem is to build tall apartment blocks in large cities.
With the development of the world, all the resouses and facilities saturate around large cities compared to rural areas. So people motivate to live permenantly in cities which leads to increase demand in houses in cities. Developed countries mainly focus on constructing new tall apparments and it provides a lot of benifits to people who live there. The most important thing is to easy access to resouses like banks, schools and govement services departments. It completely reduces the time and money which spend for trasportation. For instance, assume that someone needs to go to bank. If it is nearby there is no need to travel or walk long distances . Additionally, it reduces the green gas emision to the environment by reducing fuel usage.
Furthermore, build tall apartments reduce land usage and can give space for a lots of people in small land. Moreover, people can interact with each other frequenly. Normally people who live in appartments organize events to develop better understanding of each other and it helps to reduce stress and exhausion due to daily work. On the other hand, when individual needs to find a job live in an appartment can be an additional advantage because employers normally look for people who near to the work place.
In conclusion, living in an appartment always provide a lots of benifits to the people. It is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt directly, presenting a clear position that the author totally agrees with the statement. Ideas are extended and supported, such as discussing the reduction of transport time, environmental benefits regarding green gas emissions, and social interactions within apartment communities. However, there is a tendency to over-generalize in certain places, and some arguments, like employers preferring candidates living near the workplace, could be more fully developed. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed with a clear position maintained throughout, corresponding well to the Band 6.5 or 7 descriptor level. We award a Band 6.5 here due to the slight under-development of some supporting points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Ideas are logically sequenced, moving from the general demand for housing to specific infrastructure benefits, and then to social and professional advantages. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is generally clear, but transitional phrases could be more sophisticated and varied to achieve a higher band. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, ensuring the progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating ideas about urban housing, transportation, and employment. There are several attempts to use less common items and topical collocations, such as 'green gas emision', 'saturate around large cities', and 'permenantly'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('resouses', 'permenantly', 'apparments', 'benifits', 'govement', 'trasportation', 'emision', 'frequenly', 'exhausion') and occasional word choice inaccuracies. These lexical and spelling errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional structures ('If it is nearby there is no need to travel') and relative clauses ('people who live in appartments'). There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, including subject-verb agreement issues ('build tall apartments reduce', 'when individual needs', 'live in an appartment can be') and missing articles. Punctuation is generally acceptable, and while the errors are noticeable, they rarely impede communication. This balance of mixed structures and frequent minor errors places the grammatical performance firmly within the Band 6 descriptor.
