Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often considered that, the best way to provide enough houses in urban areas is to construct apartment blocks. I completely agree with this approach because it can facilitates citizens with more availability of places to live in large cities along with better opportunities for employment and education.
One of the positive effects that building tall apartment blocks offer is convenient migration for employment and education. People from various area including from both rural and urban areas prefer to migrate to new bigger cities for new opportunities and experience. If there is enough homes in those cities, it will make easier for people to settle in new places and seek for new opportunities. Consequently, building tall apartment blocks could be a beneficial idea for local as well as international residents.
Furthermore, when there is tall apartment blocks instead of many smaller houses in a city, it will occupy less area. So, the remaining areas could be use by state authorities to construct other building essential for hospital, office, industry, markets and shops. Additionally, a large number of people living in a same apartment can increase communication between them. This can ultimately help to build brotherhood and team activities even in the urban societies.
In conclusion, I completely agree that constructing tall apartment blocks facilities people who are planning to migrate to large cities for better opportunities for their career and education by providing enough homes to live.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing. Ideas regarding migration, employment opportunities, and land saving are introduced and supported to an extent. However, the response falls short of the minimum length requirement, containing 238 words instead of the required 250 words. This under-length impacts the full development of ideas, leading to a penalty in Task Achievement. While the position is clear throughout, the development remains somewhat limited and could be extended further with more detailed examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text is generally coherent and arranged with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Logical progression is visible, as the writer moves from migration benefits to land-saving and community aspects. Cohesive devices are employed, such as "One of the positive effects," "Furthermore," and "In conclusion." However, referencing and paragraphing can sometimes feel mechanical, and referencing like "when there is tall apartment blocks" shows minor cohesion and agreement faults. Overall, the organization is clear enough to earn a solid band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as "urban areas," "international residents," and "state authorities." However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as saying apartment blocks "can facilitates citizens" (grammatical error spilling into lexical) and "seek for new opportunities" (unnecessary preposition). Vocabulary is sometimes repetitive, as seen with the frequent use of "opportunities," "homes," and "cities." The lexical range is sufficient for communication but constrained by these limitations, placing it at a band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses ("If there is enough homes in those cities, it will make easier..."). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ("when there is tall apartment blocks"), word form errors ("can facilitates"), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ("it will make easier for people"). Despite these errors, they do not severely impede overall communication. The frequency of grammatical inaccuracies points firmly to a band 5.0.
