Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether tall apartment blocks are the best solution for urban housing, comparing houses and apartments. However, the position is extremely confused and difficult to follow. Phrases like 'the mass of way to issue enough homes' and 'there are both consider in my perspective but i would say greater homes' obscure the writer's stance. While the student touches on relevant ideas—such as amenities, luxury lifestyles, space, and family living—the arguments are underdeveloped and lack clear examples. The prompt is only addressed partially due to severe issues with clarity and task interpretation, aligning best with a Band 4.0 descriptor where ideas are presented minimally and the core message is frequently obscured.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the essay suffers from major structural deficiencies. Although paragraph markers like 'on the first hand;', 'on the other hand;', and 'in conclusion;' are attempted, they are used incorrectly and inappropriately punctuated. The progression of ideas is very difficult to follow because sentences lack logical links and referencing is frequently unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'while they apartment is expensive'. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately throughout the response. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical progression of each paragraph breaks down rapidly, leading to a score of 4.0 for cohesion where information is not arranged coherently.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is extremely basic, repetitive, and heavily flawed. The student frequently employs incorrect word choices and unidiomatic collocations, such as 'issue enough homes', 'disntrictive atmosphere', 'selling of house did't ask automatic sell', and 'amenities issue'. There are also numerous non-existent word forms and severe spelling errors like 'relex', 'noice', and 'appourtunities'. The range of vocabulary is very limited and inadequate for discussing this academic topic effectively. Because the constant errors and misuse of terms significantly strain the reader and impede clear communication, this performance aligns closely with a Band 4.0 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay. The text contains very few error-free sentences, and almost every sentence exhibits major structural breakdowns, fragments, or severe punctuation errors. Examples include 'homes are crucial role play in our life because they significantly and disntrictive atmosphere while they did't noice or any kind of involving' and 'people they own house they feel relex'. Complex sentence structures are attempted, but they are consistently faulty and frequently distort meaning. Basic rules of agreement, tense, and clause structures are frequently violated. This demonstrates a very limited range of accurate structures, fitting the Band 4.0 criteria where errors are highly frequent.
