Student answer (Band 5.5)
The most efficient way of fulfiling the requirements of homes in the urban areas are to build plates in vertical design. In this essay I will explain how such initiatives can help in protecting the land and foster agriculture.Although designing such projects are a real hassle, they are worth to create.
Recently demand for new houses has increased drastically due to the immigration of citizens from rural areas to urban in search of finding better opportunities and they need residential area to live in. Addressing such issues without capturing big agricultural land is to make houses in skyscrappers which occupy small space. For example, In some african countries people developed residential areas in a horizental shapes which covered substantial space and now they are facing isses, where to build additional homes or in which areas to cultivate vegitables etc.
However, building tall dwelling needs experts in the field of civil engineering and archetecture to design it which is essential to make the project successful. Although these projects can be expensive, it can help in long term by accomodating large number of newly arrived communities to the city. For instance, the capital of Pakistan is ranked highly by International organizations due to it nature-friendly environment and lack of residential towers. Even though it the houses covers almost 70% of the space which could have been utalized by the government in fulifiling the demand of new habitation.
To conclude, I agree with the statement becuase new abode should be constructed in vertical shapes to accumdate immigrants in the city, though it will be cost consuming, they will be helpfull in avoiding homlessness and preventing land to be later used for farming.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the extent of agreement with building tall apartment blocks in large cities. The writer presents a clear position throughout, suggesting that vertical living helps protect agricultural land and accommodate rising populations. Main ideas are supported with examples, such as referencing the capital of Pakistan and mentioning horizontal developments in African countries. However, some ideas lack full development and generalisations are occasionally broad. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, fitting the Band 6 descriptors where relevant ideas are presented and a position is maintained.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphs serving distinct functions, such as introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed, including transition markers like 'Recently', 'However', 'For instance', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and transitions are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Even though it the houses covers almost 70%', which disrupts the natural flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the logical progression between sentences occasionally stumbles due to grammatical distractions, leading to a Band 6 score.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting less common items such as 'urban areas', 'infrastructure', 'civil engineering', and 'nature-friendly'. However, there are numerous word choice errors and non-standard collocations throughout the text, including 'fulifiling the requirements of homes', 'plates in vertical design', 'skyscrappers', 'horizental shapes', and 'cost consuming'. While these inaccuracies do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5, as the errors in word formation and spelling are noticeable and cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, using conditional and concessive clauses such as 'Although designing such projects are a real hassle, they are worth to create.' However, grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The most efficient way... are', 'building tall dwelling needs'), article usage, prepositions, and spelling ('vegitables', 'archetecture', 'accomdate'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader, aligning the response with Band 5 descriptors where attempts at complex structures are often faulty.
