Student answer (Band 5.0)
Now a days the population is increasing day by day and due to the population the demand of the houses are also increasing. The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartments blocks and i agree with this statement because according to the situation of the population the demand of the houses are increasing in large cities if they build houses then the land will be full and no other space left for any other things like manufacturing or any other like that.
If we build tall building apartment block then it will benefical for the country and for other sectors the tall building apartment block carry less space and maintain the building which looks more beautiful also the building apartment has all amneties in one building and it will save alot of time.you can also enjoy the pool facility and the restaurant facility.
If we can see the large cities there are many tall apartment blocks it will near to the offices and main buildings through which the time can be saved and the hospital facilities and school facilities are nearer the tall buildings in large cities. Also the place can be conjusted if homes are build separate.
In my personal experience i visited the large cities which is looking good and looks tremendous in night times also the some houses which are separate from the tall buildings is not so good as like the tall buildings and these buildings are modified and well structured and the economy will be rising from the building sectors.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favour of building tall apartment blocks in large cities to provide enough homes. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the student mentions that tall buildings save space and prevent urban sprawl, but this point is underdeveloped and circles back to basic assertions without strong supporting examples or deep exploration. The reasoning relies heavily on superficial details such as having access to a pool and a restaurant. While a position is stated and maintained throughout, the lack of fully extended supporting arguments places this response firmly at Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some overall organisation, attempting to separate ideas into distinct paragraphs, but logical progression is weak. Paragraph breaks are used, but sentences within paragraphs run together without clear cohesive ties, creating a choppy reading experience. For instance, the second paragraph transitions abruptly from structural benefits to amenities like 'the pool facility and the restaurant facility' without smooth signposting. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'it will near to the offices', where the subject pronoun lacks a precise antecedent. Cohesive devices are minimal, inadequate, and sometimes repetitive, aligning the response with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing terms such as 'large cities', 'tall apartment blocks', and 'population' across sentences. There are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'conjusted' (congested) and phrasing like 'the land will be full'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with limited success, and spelling or word-formation errors—such as 'benefical' instead of beneficial and 'amneties' instead of amenities—are present. These limitations restrict the range of vocabulary to a level that is minimally adequate for the task, reflecting a Band 5.0 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing relies predominantly on simple sentence structures, alongside frequent attempts at complex sentences that are often faulty and punctuated incorrectly. Run-on sentences are common due to missing punctuation or conjunctions, as seen in the opening sentence: 'Now a days the population is increasing day by day and due to the population the demand of the houses are also increasing.' There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the demand of the houses are') and prepositional mistakes. These errors occur throughout the text and frequently cause strain for the reader, which is characteristic of a Band 5.0 score.
