Student answer (Band 5.0)
One of the good ways to provide enough housing facilities in metropolitical city is to construct huge apartment blocks. In my opinion, construction of tall buildings is helpful because less space is required to construct a tall building in comparison of separate houses. However, constructing a separate house is good thing one can lead clam and composed without any disturbance.
Tall buildings can accommodate a greater number of people in a small area whereas they will have a beautiful society of many neighbours. Furthermore,
they can buy a house which is in the city center such as it will be near to schools, colleges, offices, shopping marts etc. To illustrate with by taking apartment as an example people will get a good society, and they celebrate all kinds of festivals by sharing different cultures. Even people no need of bearing the expenses of land which is every high.
Basically, Large cities will be crowded with lot of populations. Additionally, there will be lot of air pollutions, traffic and daily expenses will be very high. There will be no calm and composed atmosphere. However, adjusting lifestyle plays a major role in the society. Even if the apartments are near to metro station or city centers then the staying rent will be very high.
To conclude, the best ways to provide more houses in large buildings because one can live good life with beautiful society. By sharing all kind of cultures and having good communications with the neighbours. And having a lot of facilities nearby to their places.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best solution to provide housing in large cities. The student attempts to present a position, stating that tall buildings are helpful due to space efficiency, while briefly acknowledging the benefits of separate houses. However, the ideas are often under-developed and lack sufficient support. For instance, the transition from discussing apartment benefits to city overcrowding in the third paragraph is abrupt and lacks a clear logical link. While the prompt is addressed, the arguments remain somewhat limited and tend to over-generalise without concrete evidence or deep elaboration. Therefore, the response aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed, but the position and ideas are restricted and insufficiently extended throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at logical arrangement. However, overall progression is frequently hindered by weak or faulty cohesive devices and referencing issues. For example, sentences like 'To illustrate with by taking apartment as an example people will get a good society' demonstrate awkward phrasing and a lack of smooth transitions. Furthermore, pronouns and linking phrases are occasionally used inaccurately, such as starting multiple paragraphs with abrupt shifts like 'Basically' or 'Even if'. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion lacks precision and clarity. These characteristics correspond to a Band 5 level, where some organisation is visible, but the cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using terms like 'housing facilities', 'metropolitical city' (which contains a slight morphological error), and 'apartment blocks'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'shopping marts', 'every high' instead of 'very high', and 'staying rent'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, inaccurate collocations and spelling/word-choice slips are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. This performance sits firmly at Band 5, featuring a restricted range where lexical inaccuracies impede the precision of the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. For instance, the sentence structure in 'To illustrate with by taking apartment as an example people will get a good society...' is grammatically incomplete and confusing. Other errors include missing articles ('people no need of bearing'), incorrect prepositions ('in comparison of'), and subject-verb agreement slips ('Large cities will be crowded with lot of populations'). Frequent structural errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader throughout the text. Consequently, this falls into the Band 5 category, where complex structures are frequently faulty and grammar errors recur consistently.
