Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, in a large cities they have built a tall apartments blocks to given enough homes to humans to live there. I total agree with is statement and will give the full explaionstion for the same.

Firstly, in this fast modern world we can understand that population has increase day by day. Families are now not living together everyone wants its own apartment to stay. Due to this large cities has built tall apartment blocks to make more homes for people. For example, if a family want to stay in a one building so just because of taller apartment they can stay in a same place. Secondly if a man of a hose is moved to other cities for their work they can stay near by their work area in a taller apartment so that they don’t need to pay for their rides.

Moreover, if a student is moved abroad for its studies they can stay in a tall apartment with is specially made for students to stay. Over there they can get a lot of facility of life with can help them to live there. For example, an Indian student moving to London for its higher studies they can get benefits to stay in a tall apartment near by metro so that they can move in the cities they want, and its make their life easy too. Furthermore, tall apartment blocks can get a better views of the cities as compare to shorter ones. Staying in a shorter apartment can’t give the cities view as many buildings are nearby, but tall apartment can give u a batter views of sunset and cities nights.

In conclusion, we say that taller apartments has its own benefits to stay as they can give us a better view and say in a nearby area which connects us to live in a better place

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, albeit simply expressed, position agreeing with the statement. Ideas regarding population growth, convenience for workers and students, and views from tall buildings are presented, but they are underdeveloped and rely on rather simplistic or repetitive reasoning. For instance, the argument about students moving abroad is somewhat generalised, and the point regarding views is a minor supporting detail rather than a robust main argument. Furthermore, there are awkward phrasings and generalisations throughout the response that limit deeper exploration of the topic. Consequently, the performance aligns best with Band 5.0, where the task is addressed, but the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organised into distinct paragraphs, starting with an introduction, followed by body paragraphs marked by transitional phrases like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', and ending with a conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward cohesion and referencing issues, such as 'stay in a one building so just because of taller apartment they can stay in a same place'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas lacks clear overall progression. Pronoun referencing is often unclear (e.g., 'everyone wants its own apartment', 'with is specially made'). These deficiencies place the response firmly in the Band 5 category for coherence and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student frequently reuses words like 'tall', 'apartment', 'stay', and 'cities' instead of employing synonyms or a wider range of lexical items. There are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'I total agree with is statement', 'explaionstion', and 'a lot of facility of life'. These errors and the limited range occasionally cause strain for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band. Overall, the lexical resource displayed is minimally adequate, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but these are frequently marred by persistent grammatical errors and poor control. Examples include 'in a large cities they have built a tall apartments blocks', 'if a man of a hose is moved', and 'with can help them'. Subject-verb agreement errors, incorrect article usage, and spelling mistakes (such as 'explaionstion') occur throughout the response. The range of structures is limited, and attempts at complex sentences often result in faulty punctuation or ungrammatical clauses. These frequent errors correspond to the Band 5 descriptor for grammatical range and accuracy.
