Student answer (Band 5.0)

BUILD TALL APARTMENT IN CITIES

It is the fact, if buid tall buildings or apartments they provide enough homes in large cities for staying people from in the cities and also for those people who are comming for different purpose . Like, study and work.

I agree, in large cities should build tall apartments because it takes small area and large capacity for staying more people. In addition it saves our ecosystem by stopping de-foresting. IIn my opinion, if we make tall apartment we use less area then make more small and thousands of home.

I have watched different photos and videos on social media about the tallest building in different countries. Moreover that places loking like a wow and beautiful place surrounded by tall apartment and relexed atmosphare. Likewise we can lived as a join family we don't need another home for living other family members. Which helps to close with family and celebrate fastivals with family.

If we made small but thousands home that take thousands of area and we should cuting trees and problem in water sources. These activities affect human health and environment .We should face different kinds of diseases which are dangerous for human life.

In mordern era we are facing different kinds of disease and climate change. Recently, nepal was facing the Bhotekoshi Flood. Whereas morethen thousands of people die or destroy the infrastructure more then 2 billion.

In conclusion, if we save our enviroment then environment saves human lifes. If we make tall building that helps to protect our planet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. The student takes a clear position in favour of tall buildings, noting advantages such as saving space and protecting ecosystems from deforestation. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and rely heavily on generalisations rather than detailed elaboration or specific examples. For instance, the reference to the Bhotekoshi Flood in Nepal is somewhat loosely connected to the core argument about urban housing, illustrating a tangential leap in reasoning. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the depth of exploration corresponds to a Band 5.0 level, where ideas are limited and lack full support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organised into multiple paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts in topic and weak transitional phrases. For example, moving from the benefits of extended families living together directly into deforestation and water source problems lacks a smooth conceptual bridge. Cohesive devices are often repetitive or awkward, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Furthermore' or 'In addition' used incorrectly. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are very brief or consist of single sentences, hindering the overall flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the relationships between ideas. Overall, this reflects a Band 5.0 performance.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and heavily constrained by basic vocabulary. The student uses repetitive terms such as 'homes', 'cities', 'people', and 'different kinds of disease'. There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'comming for different purpose', 'taking small area', 'loking like a wow', and 'join family'. Spelling errors are also present, including 'buid', 'de-foresting', 'relexed', 'fastivals', 'cuting', 'mordern', 'morethen', and 'lifes'. These errors and the restricted range of vocabulary place the response firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on minimal adequacy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and attempted complex sentences that frequently contain serious structural errors. Examples of faulty grammar include 'It is the fact, if buid tall buildings or apartments they provide...', 'if we make tall apartment we use less area then make more small and thousands of home', and 'Whereas morethen thousands of people die or destroy the infrastructure more then 2 billion.' Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic throughout the text. The high frequency of grammatical errors causes constant difficulty for the reader and distorts meaning in places, corresponding to a Band 4.0 level.
