Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the increase in population the homelessness is increasing at an enormous rate. It is argued by many individuals that building tall living appartments in metropolis is the best appraoch to provide enough houses to the citizens. From my perspective, I entirely agree with this opinion. In course of this essay I will give reasons to justify my stance.
To begin with, residential towers can save a lot of space of the city. As the population of the whole world is growing at an enormous rate, space became a big issue. Tall buildings take less space and can provide residence to numorous individuals. A five storey appartment can provide home to hundrads of citizens but it will take the width of two or three homes. For instance, according to a report published by Dawn news paper, Tokyo contains approximately 600 Tall buildings and the homelessness rate their is less than 1%. As a result in large urban areas this approach is the best to provide enough homes.
Another big reason is, if the state develops normal two storey houses for their citizens, the space for other commercial activities will be erased. As mentioned earlier, the population increase is big issue esspecialy in big cities, so building residential towers instead of normal houses is very beneficial. In the remaining space, government can build industrial zone, commercial shops or even recreational places. For example, during the MQN's government in Karachi, they replaced normal residential societies into tall appartment societies and built Servis factory in the remaining space. Consequently, alongside providing homes to the people of the nation higher athorities can also focus on industrial development.
In conclusion, due to limited space in large urban areas, this approach is be very beneficial for both general populace and state.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear and fully developed position in agreement with the statement. The response presents relevant main ideas regarding space conservation and commercial development, supporting them with reasoning and specific examples, such as referencing Tokyo and a historical development in Karachi. Although some ideas could be explored with greater nuance to reach higher bands, the overall task is thoroughly answered and meets the criteria for a Band 7.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay displays clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, moving from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing space saving and commercial opportunities, and concluding briefly. Cohesive devices are employed with reasonable flexibility, such as 'To begin with', 'Another big reason is', and 'For instance', though referencing is occasionally a bit mechanical. Overall, it easily satisfies the requirements for a Band 6.5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task and attempts less common items such as 'metropolis', 'recreational places', and 'industrial development'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'appartments', 'appraoch', 'numorous', 'hundrads', 'esspecialy', 'athorities', and 'their' instead of 'there'. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional and relative clauses successfully. There are, however, several grammatical and punctuation errors present, such as missing articles ('space became a big issue'), incorrect preposition usage ('in metropolis'), and spelling-related slips that affect accuracy. While complex structures are attempted, the frequency of these minor errors places the essay firmly at a Band 6.0.
