Student answer (Band 5.5)
In metero cities, due to large population having adequate number of accomodation is becoming serious issue. Some people believe the bestion solution to this problem is building the high-rise appartment complex. Although i agree this might be the most practical solution to the problem but i believe we also need to take other measures in addition to this.
Firstly, buliding tall appartment complex will help us make better use of the avaliable space because one large appartment building can accomodate many individuals as comapared to usual houses. This approach will be useful to deal with problem of having too many people but not enough homes. For instance, one appartment building have atleast 100 appartment that is eqivalent to having 100 homes instead we have them in space and area of one house.
Secondly, in addition to building high rise appartment we can also distribute the load on large cities by creating work and eduaction opportunities in the rural areas because immensive amount of the public come to these cities every year in search of jobs and eduacation opportunities. They have leave their hometown because they don't offer as much bright future oppoutunies as big cities do. For instance, my father had to leave his hometown after graduation because there were almost no jobs related to his field in his hometown. So, by creating more jobs opportunities in small hometowns there will be less crowd directed toward meteropolitean cities this will eventually solve housing problems somehow.
In conclusion, although construsting high-rise building is an effective solution to solve the housing problem but we still need to take additional measures to offer more long term and substaintial solution to the issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on the statement, agreeing that building tall apartment blocks is a practical solution while also arguing that additional measures are necessary. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the mention of the student's father moving for work. However, there is a tendency to over-generalise slightly, and the development of ideas could be more fully explored to reach a higher band. For instance, the discussion on rural opportunities supports the position well but remains somewhat basic. Overall, the requirements of the task are well met, earning a Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response presents a clear overall progression and logical organisation throughout. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with an introduction, two distinct body paragraphs focusing on different aspects of the argument, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally faulty or mechanical, as seen in minor awkward transitions and repetitive sentence starters. Paragraphing is sufficient, but logical flow could be enhanced by more varied cohesive ties rather than relying heavily on sequencing adverbs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'metropolitan', 'substantial', and 'practical solution'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'metero' instead of 'metro', 'accomodation' with incorrect double consonants, 'bestion' instead of 'best', 'appartment', 'avaliable', 'comapared', 'immensive', 'eduacation', 'oppoutunies', 'meteropolitean', and 'construsting'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the lexical score from reaching Band 6.5 or higher.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating subordinating clauses such as 'Although i agree this might be the most practical solution...' and '...because immensive amount of the public come to these cities...'. There are several grammatical errors in punctuation, capitalization, and verb agreement, such as 'one appartment building have atleast 100 appartment' instead of 'has at least 100 apartments', and lower case 'i'. Furthermore, run-on sentences like 'So, by creating more jobs opportunities in small hometowns there will be less crowd directed toward meteropolitean cities this will eventually solve housing problems somehow' show lapses in structural control. These errors do not impede overall comprehension, reflecting Band 6 performance.
