Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, managing homes have become increasingly prevelant problem in the society, which results in huge demand of tall apartments. Although, small apartmrent can provide certain benefits, i believe that building tall appartment blocks is more significant because it ensures sufficient amount of homes and developed facilities.

First and most importantly, large appartments contain a enourmous amount of blocks, and makes it feasible to ensure homes better in large cities. It is widely acknowleged that tall appartments play a crucial role in providing homes for people not only for middle class but also below middle-class as well. Governments are taking significant measures to built more and more tall appartment, which can result in lower rents with standard homes in the society.

Furthermore, there is no denying that tall appartments has become an integral part of society by developing facilities and enhancing the quality of appartments. It allows pepole to get high standard of living with developed facilities, for instance, many appartments provide with swimming pool, high security and playgrounds for children. If this approach is implemented, it can oroduce significant benefits.

Although, this approach offers several beneifts, it is not without its drawbacks. Large appartments can cost the electricity and other bills comparatively greater than small homes. One of the compelling reason for this is that the government find difficulties to ensure homes for everyone particularly in large cities. As a result, it requires a huge investment to ensure homes for everyone.

In conslusion, tall appartments blocks can sometimes be challenging to build with high investment in packed societies. However, i think it has some significant consequences to ensure sufficient enough of homes and ensure developed facilities. In the long run, this could prove beneficial for both societies and cities as a whole.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The student addresses the prompt by discussing whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing in large cities, presenting a clear position that agrees with the statement. The ideas are generally relevant, covering aspects such as housing supply, affordability, and developed facilities. However, some ideas are repetitive or lack full development, particularly in the body paragraphs where arguments blur between affordability and amenities. Furthermore, the fourth paragraph introduces a contradictory point regarding high costs and government difficulties without clearly reconciling it with the main stance. Despite these minor lapses in idea extension and minor tangents, all parts of the task are addressed, earning a solid Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction and conclusion, and the response is divided into logical paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used, such as "First and most importantly," "Furthermore," and "In conclusion," which help guide the reader through the text. However, referencing is sometimes imprecise, as seen with pronouns like "this approach" referring ambiguously to preceding concepts. Additionally, logical progression is occasionally hindered by abrupt transitions between paragraphs, such as the sudden shift to drawbacks in paragraph four. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs suffers from repetitive phrasing. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as "prevelant" (spelled prevelant), "feasible," "enourmous," and "infrastructure" equivalents. However, there are frequent spelling errors ("prevelant", "apartmrent", "appartment", "enourmous", "acknowleged", "pepole", "oroduce", "beneifts", "conslusion") and word formation inaccuracies. Word choices are sometimes awkward or imprecise, such as "managing homes" instead of "housing shortages." While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the central message, the numerous lexical and spelling errors place this response firmly at Band 5.5, as they occasionally cause strain for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, utilizing conditional clauses ("If this approach is implemented...") and concessive clauses ("Although..."). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ("managing homes have become", "tall appartments has become", "the government find"), incorrect article usage ("a enourmous amount", "ensure sufficient enough of homes"), and preposition errors ("provide with swimming pool"). While these errors do not completely impede communication, their high frequency and impact on readability mean the response does not achieve a higher band, comfortably fitting the Band 5.0 descriptor.
