Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response only partially addresses the task. First, it is crucial to note that the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 159 words, falling significantly short of the 250-word minimum. Regarding content, the writer attempts to present a position ('i am agree with having tall apartments in the cities') and offers a few basic supporting points, such as land efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety benefits, along with brief counter-arguments regarding privacy and noise pollution. However, these ideas are very limited and under-developed, lacking sufficient explanation or specific examples. The position is stated rather simply at the beginning, but the overall development remains superficial and incomplete due to the restricted length.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. The writing is presented as a single dense block of text with no paragraphing used to separate the introduction, main body points, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are largely inadequate, repetitive, or missing entirely; the writer relies on basic connectors like 'the first thing', 'the second reason', and 'the third reason' rather than a sophisticated range of cohesive tools. Referencing and logical transitions between sentences are also somewhat weak, which hinders the flow of ideas. For example, moving from the safety benefits directly to 'however withese reason we faces different problems' lacks smooth integration and logical paragraph structuring.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited, featuring a restricted range of vocabulary that is only minimally adequate for expressing basic ideas. There are noticeable spelling, word-choice, and word-formation errors throughout the text, such as 'bareen' (barren), 'tha' (that), 'privancy' (privacy), and 'poullution' (pollution). The writer attempts some less common vocabulary or phrases like 'mind diversion' or 'cost-effectiveness' concepts, but these are handled with inaccuracy and unconventional collocations. While the meaning can generally be deciphered, these recurring errors and the restricted vocabulary range mean the lexical quality remains basic and requires greater precision and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical range is quite limited, consisting mostly of simple and basic compound sentences. When the writer attempts more complex structures, they are often faulty, such as in the sentence 'there are many reason behind this thing but aslo have some flaws'. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement ('the land are', 'we faces'), missing articles ('in cities these kind of building'), capitalization errors ('i am agree'), and punctuation issues like missing spaces after periods and commas. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of reliable control over even basic sentence patterns.
