Student answer (Band 5.0)
Building tall apartments in large cities will offer huge opportunities for the people to have a home. The issue of people facing trouble will be sorted because large bulidings will occupy alot of apartments, where the people will start their happy life. It is more easy rather than building a small house separately for each family. The people having large family should have a large apartment having more rooms, and the people having small family should have small flat having low number of rooms according to their family members. These apartments should offer low expenses rather than full cost homes . The main advantage is that people will take their apartment in low budget instead of expensive homes. I have a better experience because i have seen many people which are hand to mouth, they cannot afford the rent of expensive houses, then they choose a miny apartment where they have no security issues and a beautiful enviroment full of people around them. Facilities are also provided near them, where they can easily get anything they want. And they can also live with their relatives in the same enviroment. Students can also live there easily. And the main advantage for the government is that the cost it bear will be able to give these apartments to alot of people in the same good enviroment. And these Tall buildings occupy a comparatively small areas instead of constructing homes separately for each family. Alot of families can live in tall buildings with good enviroment and luxury lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially by discussing the advantages of tall apartment blocks in large cities, such as space efficiency and affordability for low-income families and students. However, the position is not always clearly sustained throughout the text, and the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the point about government costs and provision is introduced abruptly without sufficient elaboration or a clear link to the overall argument. To move further, you need to present a fully developed position with well-supported arguments that thoroughly explore different facets of the prompt, rather than relying on repetitive assertions about low budgets and nice environments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response suffers from a lack of proper paragraphing, as the entire text is presented as a single solid block of writing. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the logical progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are also applied very simply and repetitively, with frequent use of words like 'and', 'then', and 'these' to link consecutive clauses. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when shifting between the general benefits for the government and personal anecdotes. To improve coherence and cohesion, you must group your ideas into distinct paragraphs with clear topic sentences and use a wider variety of cohesive ties to guide the reader smoothly through your arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary to express your ideas, relying heavily on basic and repetitive terms such as 'people', 'home', 'apartment', and 'environment'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, including 'bulidings', 'alot', 'miny', and 'enviroment', along with awkward phrasing like 'full cost homes' and 'hand to mouth'. These lexical limitations occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, you should incorporate a wider variety of less common lexical items, ensure correct word formation and spelling, and focus on natural collocations related to urban planning and housing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. When you attempt complex sentence forms, they are frequently faulty, such as in the clause 'people which are hand to mouth, they cannot afford'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and punctuation throughout the text, which can cause some difficulty for the reader trying to decode your meaning. To improve this criterion, you need to practise forming accurate complex sentences using relative clauses and subordinate clauses while maintaining better control over basic grammar and punctuation.
