Student answer (Band 4.5)

Home is the need of every human.Everybody must have his own home because home provide us shelter and protection. Home is one of the basic and essential need of every human.

To provide homes in large cities is no neccessary. However home must be provided to every family. From my perspective, people should be provided small homes instead of tal apartments. There is no doubt that tall apartments looks very beautiful and wonders of builder. The harsh thing is that tall apartments require a lot of space as wel as a lot of material. Tall aparments can be detrimental in some conditions. For instance, earthquakes can hit tall apartments badly and may cause of deaths and destructions.Childern playing on roof may fell down. Tall apartments usally have a lot of stairs which may cause of tierdness to go on roof.

I prefer small apartments which are generally cheap and affordable for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

Your response responds to the task only minimally. Most importantly, the Length Check reports that the response contains only 152 words, falling significantly short of the required 250-word minimum. Regarding task content, you attempt to address whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities, but your ideas are very limited and under-developed. For instance, you briefly mention that tall apartments require a lot of space and materials, and you touch upon earthquake risks and children falling from roofs, but these points are presented without sufficient explanation or elaboration. To reach a higher band, you must write at least 250 words and fully extend your main ideas with detailed explanations and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

Your essay shows some organisation, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. While you begin with an introduction and attempt to structure your paragraphs around your opinion, the relationships between sentences are sometimes unclear or disjointed. Cohesive devices are basic and repetitive, and your paragraphing is underdeveloped—for instance, your conclusion consists of only a single short sentence ("I prefer small apartments which are generally cheap and affordable for everyone."). To improve this criterion, you need to use a wider range of cohesive devices naturally and structure your essay into clear, logically linked paragraphs with a proper introduction, well-developed body paragraphs, and a comprehensive conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive throughout the essay, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. You rely on simple terms like "home," "house," and "tall apartments," and make several word choice and spelling errors, such as writing "neccessary" instead of necessary, "tal" instead of tall, "wel" instead of well, and "aparments" instead of apartments. You also make collocation and word form errors, such as writing "cause of deaths" instead of causing deaths, and "tierdness" instead of tiredness. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a broader and more precise range of vocabulary, control your spelling more carefully, and demonstrate an awareness of natural word collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing demonstrates a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. You make frequent grammatical errors regarding plurals, articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement. Examples of errors in your text include "home provide us shelter" instead of homes provide us with shelter, "essential need" missing an article or plural form, "looks very beautiful" where the subject-verb agreement is incorrect for plural apartments, and "Childern playing on roof may fell down" containing spelling, article, and verb form errors. To improve your grammar score, you need to increase your control over basic sentence patterns, master verb forms and plurals, and reduce the frequency of errors.
