Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people believe that building tall apartment blocks is the good possible way to provide sufficient homes in big cities. I strongly agree with this viewpoint and i believe that building the tall appartment blocks is the best way to provide homes because it will make free all the empty lands for farmers for agriculture and also it will to keep environment clean and pollution free.
In the one hand, development of the tall appartment will left many land empty. In free land farmers can run their agriculture business from which they can be financially secure. Furthermore, it also attracts the investment from the investors in their enterprise that can help both farmer and investor moreover this also support government economically. For instance, my town also has small houses but at the time of development after the construction of tall apartment farmers has been growing financially with the use of that free space land.
In the other hand, the higher number of small houses can give a city messy and dirty look whereas tall appartment gives a managed. Furthermore, it also save the time and enery of the waste collection group while they had to go home by home to collect wastes but after tall appartment it will be easy for them which can control traffic and pollution in citiy. For example, in my town also after building tall apartment blocks the pollution has been controlled and the head of waste collection group has given a feedback aboutthe easyness in woe
In conclusion, the construction of tall apartment blocks is the better way for the enough homes rather than small appartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially by presenting a clear position agreeing with the statement that tall apartment blocks are the best solution for urban housing. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the argument regarding leaving land empty for agriculture is asserted without sufficient supporting explanation or realistic context for major cities. Similarly, the points about waste collection are overly simplistic and lack thorough extension. To reach the next level, the ideas need to be more fully expanded with deeper reasoning and more robust, convincing examples that directly address the complexities of urban housing supply.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some overall organisation in the essay, featuring a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the text. Paragraphing is attempted using transitional markers like 'In the one hand' and 'In the other hand', but cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate, mechanical, or awkwardly used. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use when referring back to previous points. Progression stalls because sentences often repeat similar concepts rather than building upon them logically. To improve, the writer needs to use a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices and ensure each sentence builds smoothly upon the last to create a clear, logical flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about housing and the environment. There are noticeable lexical errors throughout the text, including incorrect word forms and awkward collocations such as 'the good possible way', 'appartment', and 'easyness in woe'. Spelling errors also occur frequently, which causes some difficulty for the reader. The range of vocabulary is restricted to simple and repetitive terms. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical repertoire to include less common items, improve word formation, and ensure accurate spelling and collocation throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, including missing or incorrect articles ('the tall appartment'), problems with subject-verb agreement ('farmers has been growing'), and incorrect prepositions or phrasing within patterns ('it will to keep'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning. To progress, the writer should practice forming complex sentence structures accurately and focus on eliminating basic errors in verb tenses, articles, and sentence architecture.
